I record onto RiffWorks T4 via the Line6 UX1. The problem I am having is that the sound lags whenever I try to record on RiffWorks making it next to impossible to record. I know for a fact that the audio does not lag when I am only using my UX1 and podfarm, the problem only occurs when I open RiffWorks and actually hit the record button.

What could be causing the problem? Is some other program conflicting with it?

I dont get any lag with this setup.

It sounds like you might be running Pod Farm as a VST plug in. If so you don't need to with the Toneport. Just run the standalone Podfarm app. Make sure the bottom HARDWARE button in Riffworks is selected.

Does this help?

I checked, the "hardware" button is selected.

Try this, start Podfarm without Riffworks. No lag correct.

Then start Riffworks but don't press record, is there lag now? Check the driver in Riffworks under audio setup should be using Line 6 UX1 ASIO.

It sounds like you are monitoring the recorded signal which you shouldnt be, but it could be your cpu maxing out but not likely.

Yeah, it says it's using the "ASIO UX1" as the ASIO device.

Well there are a few things you can check.

Check the Line6 Audio driver settings and decrease the latency slider to the left.

Try decreasing your buffer settings to 256.

Change Riffworks from 32 to 16 bits.

Apart from that make sure your computer meets the minimum specs. You should have near 0 lag when using tonedirect monitoring regardless of all your settings.

I was having the same problem and I went to audio setup and then to "Open ASIO control panel" then increased the ASIO Buffer Size Sample number on the slider at the bottom of the window and it started putting out smooth audio again.

Without really knowing what you got under the hood.....sounds as if the ASIO driver settings need to be tweaked as stated above. The great thing about using something like the Toneport is the fact that here should be little to no noticeable latency when recording with Riffworks.

Have a go with some of the suggestions and get back to us......some basic system specs may help too if it persists.
