Is there a way to use PodFarm in Riffworks? I have a Podxt, so I can't use the stand alone.

yes, i think...installed the Vst Pod Farm and klick the Button Effect unter the Button Hardware.
There is a list what Vst plug installed on your computer.
You shouldt see the Pod farm in the list.

I think the only way to get the VST function is to pay extra for it ($49 ish maybe ???)

I paid for the gold package with the VST plugin for Gearbox. I can have the POD Farm GUI load but it says it does not support audio if there is no hardware device is installed - like my UX2.

Its 49.00 for me also...that blows. Guess that was why they were reducing them.

I've got UX2 and Pod Farm. The Pod Farm VST is installed, by default, in the directory C:Program FilesLine 6Pod FarmLine 6Pod Farm.dll

I copied this to C:VSTPlugIns and it now appears in RiffWorks!

No additional purchase. :-)

It'll show up but it will record dry tones as a VST til you authorize/buy it.

As long as you purchased the Gold package with the VST plugin for Gearbox and authorized it PodFarm VSt should be a free upgrade. Run the monkey again.

I bought the Gold package (Gerabox w/ VST) when Line6 had it on sale for $99 US or something and PodFarm updated and works like a champ.

This is in no way a plug for Line6 as I will never do business with them again!

Toneport owners should use the standalone Pod Farm app which is free, the VST is not free for Toneport UX2. Now they have a Pod Studio UX1/UX2 thingy which will come with VST.

Mine says it'll act as a GUI but wont process audio. (since the hardware device is not plugged in)

Thanks for the help. I was able to get it to run in T4. It looks like I would need Standard to run, but I have Line 6. I can only use Line 6 drivers. I wish I knew that when I bought it.

You can still crossgrade from Line 6 to standard for $29 :)

To Clear this is a Little Bit.

1. If you have a line6 interface(tone port etc with their bundle( and Not a Processor (podxt,x3..)

You Can ONLY use standalone unless you buy a ilok license for plug in separately.(not sure exactly if you have to buy the licence or entire setup, but standalone is surely free)

2.If you have a H/W Device (podxt,x3..)

You can ONLY use the pod farm plug in. The standalone won't work for you.

The plug in is free for x3 series users and xt series users need to buy a license.

Any model packs you already bought for xt will be enabled in pod farm plugin.

3. If you have both, you can only use what you have licensed/attached to be used with respective device.

....................... /

Charvelguy you can use standalone.

since you already have gold bundle with plugin i am sure you are entitled to the free standalone.

For vst plugin version you might need to purchase ilok licence as the vst requires either a hardware processor that is activated or an ilok license.

A Big TIP: For Podxt (hopefully podx3 too) users : You can clear a bank in you pod and set it up for use Just with the vst or you can just do all in gearbox standalone gui but record via vst, it will give you a dual pod series benefit, all without chaining multiple vst and hence much lower latency.

what i mean here is you can have some fx at input (i.e from the H/W itself), like you can have the tube drive and eq before the vst to shape the input your vst receives and can have other stomp or the devices along with other from vst. it becomes somewhat flexible routing setup.

The eq at pre works quite good in faking an acoustic or infact any signal with fx and shapers. The vst works on what it hears, and you can deliberately change/control what you want it to hear. :)
