Hey everyone.

I just picked up a Dell Studio Hybrid and now when I'm playing songs I keep getting pops and delays in my songs. I mean I totally upgraded my processor and my ram. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Bill

Is that in RiffWorks or all audio in general?

I get it in all. My Gear Box is doing it also. I never had problems with it on my old machine. Any thoughts?

Check your ASIO driver settings. Your buffer might be too low or too high

I have a Dell Studio (model 1535) also - when I "upgraded" I had the same problem.

Turning off the wifi (the switch on the left side) solves the problem for me.

Let me know if this helps.

what modeling software are you using? line6? it has to do with the chipsets, dell uses intel ich9's which arn't real good for modeling, atalwar is right pay very close attention to your asio settings, i can succsesfully run my software in 24 bit modeling but i have to set my latency at 11.0 i can run evry thing ok in 16 bit modeling with my latency set at 5.4 or even 2.1 just depends on the amp and effects i'm using. i have fewer problems in 16 bit. try to see of your driver is 16 or 24 bit down grading to 16 usally solves it! but in truth, like i said the problem is in the chipsets but the cracking and poppin actually comes from overloading the cpu usage,so kepp an eye on that too! i have a dell XPS, and you can have the most zuped up computer and still have this problem if the asio isn't compatible with the chipsets! i've used most of the modeling software at one time or another, so here is what i know! the stealthplug and amplitube is more than compatible with ich9 chipsets,no problems. the pevey stuff also works with stealthplug,it runs in 16 bit! i kept my latency there about 356! line6,zoom zfx, guitar rig all have known issues with ich9's but usually if you are careful you can sucessfully run them with you latency set alittle higher than probably what you are used to. first check your asio device driver and see what bit your in! if you have options for the settings try adjusting your latency or turn it down to 16 bit! if the don't check with tech support of the company your asio device is made by and mabey they can give you or develope a new driver line 6 has done this,i know, also zoom zxfx has too. don't know about guitar rig. hope this hepls bro! good luck if you need more info email me at sixstringoutlaw@wildblue.net.
