Hi Guys

In all of your oppinions...if i have some drums in MID format - what is the easiest route into getting them into Riffworks as a riff.

My immediate guess would be load them into a DAW, chain it to Riffworks using Rewire and then play them through general MIDI?

I have various demos of DAWS and some lite versions but they all need some investment of time to understand them.

I have no problem in investing the time but i want to chose the right one for this purpose - getting Guitar Pro Drum, Synth and Bass tracks into Riffworks as Riff tracks so i can record against them.

I might even shell out for DAW if someone can convince me its the best thing since sliced bread.....

Thanks in advance :)

Alex.

Are you playing the midi drums? You can click on the song layer and record live Drums this way.. just make sure to make a riff at the beging that is long enough for you to hit record and get ready to play usually 4 bars.. Also you could run the through fruity loops demo wich is free and do it as a vst or rewire.. if you are running vista (won't work with xp)

As far as DAWS are concerned, Reaper can be Rewired back into Riffworks.......some of the guys have had success with that.... and it's not nearly as expensive as some of it's competitors. :)

Reaper is good. Reaper is cheap.

Have you guys gotten midi drums (i.e. EZ Drummer, Addictive Drums, etc.) to work from Reaper in ReWire slave mode? I never quite got that happening and every time I try it I get frustrated
