I recently installed RW on my new PC with Vista Home Premium. I was previously running it on another laptop with XP Home Edition.

The install appeared to go as planned, however when I load previously recorded song the drum message says the drums [in this case "Heavey Core Too"] cannot be found.

I did some digging and noticed the Sonoma Wire Works folder containing the resources/drummer folder was installed to a folder called Progam Files (x86) and another Sonoma Wire Works folder containing two registration files installed into Program Files.

If I create a new song the demo drummer [contained in the same folder as drummers I downloaded from the store] plays fine.

I am new to Vista so any help with this is sincerely appreciated!!!

Hey Chip, go to computer C drive, now click tools/folder options/then the View Tab....make sure to turn on the "Show hidden files and Folders option, click apply.

Drummers are or should be in Program Data/Sonoma Wireworks/Drummers.

A manual install might help....maybe they installed into the wrong folder for some reason. That's where they should be.

Hope this helps you mate. :)

P.S. You did download and double click your drummers from the Sonoma Store right?
Download and save them to a 2nd drive, then double click 'em or manually install them to the above location.

I will give that a try Mickey....should I move everything from the resources folder to Program Data folder?

Well moving the drummer folder to the program data folder didn't work...
Is it possible there is something I need to do with the file extension of the downloaded drums?

I say this because the demo drummer works fine from the Program [x86] folder.

I just noticed that if I assign the drummer in the individual riffs themselves they work. I thought as long as they were in the drummer folder RW would pick up the drummer and the settings when I transferred the songs to my new system.

This isn't so bad, at least I can work with this issue and just re-assign the drum parts.

One thing as well....back in the day some of the drummers had different names...for instance Trash Funk was just Funk and Afro Island grooves was Afro Caribbean.

Heavy Core and most of them now have the maker in the name DrumsOnDemand.HeavyCore so if thats the case you'll have to rename them and reload them or simply re download them from the Sonoma store/Your account.

I've had to do that on a lot of old tunes(rename drummer).

That may have been the problem...bit of a pain having to re-do all of the drums [my arms get tired...LOL]. Glad I didn't have the entire CD completed, then I'd be calling Dug! LOL

Hey Time.. I'm a total noob so I cant tell you why it installed into the wrong folder.. but, I do know Vista.. if you have a program ( x86) and just a plain Programs folder on your C drive you are running a 64 bit system... Programs(x86) is for 32 bit programs...Programs is for 64 bit programs.. ( I am running 64 bit as well...) and since RW is a 32 bit program, its very possible that Vista will put installs in the wrong folders.. it has happened to me time an again with games and Ableton Live. I havent yet looked, but you can move the folder to its right place in programs ( x86) , not sure but usually a program can let you set the locations for projects and work. Most programs these days " remember" where you saved things last and will go there when looking to open a project file later. Good luck.. seems there are very few programs like this that are 64 bit supported ( cant run proTools so they say, even Ableton is not supported.. but I havent had a problem yet..)so they wont promise you it will run properly on a 64 bit machine. Mine so far is running well, but I havent installed the update yet. Good luck!

Mine is running now to...the only issue was the drum programs not transferring from XP to Vista in the song files....not sure why so I'm re-assigning all of the drum tracks to the songs...pain in the butt....at least it's working.

Thanks for the support!!!
