Well, I've been goofing around with RW T4 for a few days, and having a ball. The four track limit however, was definitely holding me back. Today I got an email offer of $30 off RW Standard, so that sealed the deal. I paid up and downloaded everything they would let me. The Amplitude Live looks pretty cool, but if I already have a Pod XT Live and Gearbox, would that just be redundant?

For recording, I have Logic Express and Garage Band, for sampling and midi I have Reason and a few other shareware midi sequencers. Out of all this stuff I've had the most fun just using Riffworks. I find it a lot easier to use, as it requires a minimum of setup time to get something recorded. As we all know, when the inspiration hits you, you gotta get it down right then and there.

I'm still barely scratching the surface of what this program can do, but I'm enjoying the learning process immensely. I'm looking forward to getting into some of the other fun things like Rifflink.

Cheers!

FYI Rifflink is included in T4.
Gearbox Plugin should work in riffworks, but I too have a pod-xt (not live) and I dial in my tones on the pod hardware. when u launch Riffworks, press the "hardware" button and it will dissable the VSTs and Effects when recording (you should get better latencies also)

Looking forward to seeing you on Rifflink mate, I didn't think it would be long before you were hooked :)

I have the full version of Amplitude and don't use it because of the latency problems that seem to come with it. IMHO using Gearbox or Pod farm running alongside Riffworks is the best way to quickly get stuff laid down and get satisfying results. FYI I also have the VST version of Gearbox and latency comes on board with that too, maybe it's a VST thing.

Uncle Bill

PS Don't forget the new guy rule (It's the only rule here ;))
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!
