I use Gearbox with Riffworks. What are the advantages of using Pod farm instead - apart from the nice graphical display?

Thanks

With the POD X3, gearbox is also capable of dual-tone modeling. I like both of them. I think the pod farm interface motivates you to make your own tones from scratch instead of using presets. Pod farm has a really nice graphical tuner. (I haven't found a tuner in gearbox, but I'm not looking lol). A disadvantage of Pod Farm is that you can't choose cab models and mic models. It's worth a try to see what's right for ya!

I enjoy them both, but I use Gearbox more with Riffworks. When I use Podfarm, the tones sound incredible on their own, but for some reason sound hollow to me through Riffworks' final product. Loooooove Podfarm on its own though.

My two pennies...

you can change mic and cabs in pod farm... you just gotta look ;)
highlight the amp.. then go to 'panel'... at the topish left you'll see an option for amp or cab.... if you click 'cab' it will bring up the mic and cab options like in gearbox.

The tuner sucks in podfarm (well I think it does); it's much better in Gearbox. Also, you can change cabs and mikes in the Farm as well. Hit the Panel button, then far right it says Amp - Cab...select cab and off you go...(edit...sorry didn't see the previous post....!!!)

I think they are identical in every way, it's just a new interface, nothing about the sound was changed as far as I know.

Podfarm has dual tone from a single input and gearbox(for toneport) has the super awesome hum reducer algorythm that Podfarm does not.

I like Podfarm though, but the file opening drives me nuts, I always browse manually to my tone folder.
