I got a Boss GT-10 which has built in audio interface.

It runs fine in all other software on the Mac but RW. RW crashes on startup - I get to the program screen then takes a nose dive.

Any ideas?

Hi Alexander,

The GT-10 isn't on our list of recommended hardware (http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/Recommended_Hardware) and I've seen a lot of issues with it. My first recommendation would be to make sure that you have downloaded and installed the most recently updated driver. If that doesn't make a difference, I recommend trying the free driver available at www.asio4all.com. Let me know if that makes a difference.

Best,

hey alexander long time no see.. I think you are pretty much in your own little beta tester world. RW is bascally designed for the average joe like me to buy a fairly cheap interface and record music that sounds very close to profesional. From past conversations I understand that you are in the music studio profession and that you have and buy/use lots of high end stuff this kinda puts you in the beta tester, experimental group. Have you tried using an interface that is on the compatable hardware list? Ya I know you like the better stuff but don't mock it till you try em.. If I had your talent a compatable rw device and RW I would be famious by now lol..
I use alot of stuff myself not on the compatability lists and I run multiple copies of RW simultaniously from 1 pc using high end vm virtualization but I am all on my own doing this and have crashed my pc on several ocasions(one of the reasons I bought a tougher pc) anyway I degress. I hope folks can help. but at 100 bucks for this incredible software RW has by far blown away all my expectaions. Anyway good seeing you.. Oh by the way regarding a very old conversation with you did you know you and record all your tracks on a layer called the songplayer layer? just klick the brick part of the riff area. Stymie did a song using this method by the eagles.

Vad1er - pretty much nothing works at home with that software but my FP10 by Presonus. At least I have one I can record in the collaborations with.

I did have a PreSonus Firestudio Tube for a review by the manufacturer and RW really mangled up the driver on that one, had to reinstall, but that is back traveling toward Presonus. I am not sure on who to blame the issues though cause compared to the FP10 the driver didn't "feel" as solid. Just intuition, you know :)

I am really surprised why this software can't work with a simple USB interface on a Mac - after all it is just an USB driver that for shows up in all audio applications already. Maybe I need to uninstall RW and find any and all files that could be on the hard drive, delete these and then reinstall. Or just downgrade back to the version that worked???

On another note Vad1er - I sent you a PM if you can describe how to record the length of a whole song.

I am thinking that if I can go back a few software version if possible, might cure my issues.
