ALLright, first off, im a new comer to riffrworks.

I got my recording intnerface (m-audio fast tracks) Im tring record with it, evrytime I click on create (it is plugged in) it gives me an error, saying it can't find my device.

And also im working with windows vista 32bit.

I've looked at the requirements, of What it is compatible with, and it looks likke m-audio fast tracks, got a good rating, is there something that works better?

Not sure if it's better or not but all the Line 6 interfaces kick ass!

sounds like your driver isnt installed right.

Right click on my computer, click properties , then click on device manager. Scan through your devices until you find your M audio hardware and make sure it is not yellow.... and that it says it is installed and working properly.

If it is not installed correctly post back...and I will tell you a sure fire way to make sure it is installed properly.

Verify the fast track is working before starting riffworks. Vista seems to have less problems if you run Riffworks as administrator, so try that too.

Everyone has given great advice here, and the M-Audio FastTrack (there's no "S" on the end) is fully RiffWorks and Vista compatible. Also make sure it's plugged directly into one of your computer's USB ports and that you're not going through a USB hub.

I also recommend downloading and installing the latest M-Audio FastTrack drivers from M-Audio's website.

Let us know how this works out,

Ok, but the set-up software dosen't seem to be vista compatible.

Anyway, without even realizing it, I think I got the wrong M-AUDIO, I got the M-AUDIO FAST TRACK USB that is not compatible with vistaa. I got the thing from Amazon, and the specs weren't clear on that.

The FastTrack USB is Vista compatible and I use it on Vista for all my synth work. You just need to download the Vista drivers from M-audio. Make sure you click the box to show beta drivers as it may be listed there. Hang on, let me go look. Yeah, here it is. This is the Windows Vista 32 Bit SP 1 driver:
http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver&serie_ID=6&PID=fa76e34e9f3de0b8b3d0b6f1e7b32912&OS=73#tabs

The product box you got with it off Amazon was probably made before Vista was around, so ignore what it was. Use that link to download the updated driver and then let us know how that worked for you.

Did you download and install the Vista driver that Randy linked to?

Here it is. Scroll down for the download.

if there is no driver update, try this!... uninstall the driver and software, then plug your installation disk in but don't let it auto run. then go to computer, then right click the drive the disk is in(xmpl) d:riffworks,... then click explore. then find the folder with the setup file, then right click on the setup file then find compatability... then check the box where it says run in compatability mode with windows xp srvcpk2. make sure you do this before you install the program. then go ahead and install the program. i have found that it also better to install your asio interfaces before you install riffworks, are you using some kind of plugin/ if so make sure that your plugin is recognizing your asio device! once it is. go to riffworks click on hardware at the bottom, then effects right under, then go to amps.when that window opens, click on select plugin path. then browse for your plugin, once you find it,select it and as long as your plugin is recognizing your interface it should work in theory! good luck, travis.

Sixstring - There is a driver though. I linked to it above. It wasn't an update. He just needs a driver because it sounds like he doesn't have one installed.
