My studio monitors have so much bass in them. When I mix a song with my ear phones the drums sound much crisper. Actually I don't like the sound of my monitors. Do I need a mixer to fix this. Any ideas would be appreciated .thanks vinny

Just what kind of monitors are you 2 gentlemen using? Are they studio reference monitors, computer speakers with a subwoofer?

Regardless of which type you're using, they should be set at flat EQ settings to final mix your tunes....... for listening enjoyment....well that's another story....for recording, headphones are just fine ....but for final mixes....flat EQ's on the monitors are a MUST.....

So you're having TOO much bass as well with the monitors Mys? Those 5's are known to not have enough bass....thus a subwoofer is usually required......but it could be how close they're placed in relation to the back wall, seeing as they're rear bass port firing monitors.

Not all headphones are the same of course....some boost bass frequencies some don't....your best bet is to get a pair of "flat/monitoring" EQ headphones to match you monitors. And another pair with normal EQ's just for listening....
