Thanks Uncle Bill. Remember though ya killed a lot of musician's ratings off over here with the British Invasion.
I remember when a Beatles tune played like every 3rd 4th song LOL

We might talk funny but at least we can spell our 'favourite' words properly and not get confused with parts of our anatomy! ;)

bum/arse = ass/fanny
bumbag = fannypack
trunks = swimsuit
boot = trunk
bonnet = hood

In England, 'fags' are cigarettes and faggots are things you eat.

Sheesh! I ask you ... how will Uncle Bill cope as a 'Brit Abroad'? :lol: He'll get his ass kicked if he decides to open his trunk and offer someone a fag out of his fannypack!

HAPPY 4th Y'ALL!! :D
Cheers!
Scott

No problem for me in USA Scotty,

If I go to Pennsylvania, they all know I'm Australian so they expect me to be a lunatic.

If I go to Florida, they all say look at that guy over there, isn't that Sean Connery, then when I speak they know it is because I talk just like him, so they're just gobsmacked UK (Awestruck USA)

Pbobski and his crew, HHHmmmmm, not sure about them, they all drive about in them penis extension motors on the wrong side of the road don't they ? They'll know when I've arrived I'll be drivin' up the right side of the road with my little old one.

Happy 4th to all, including piss takers, be a lot less fun without em.....haha

At one time, I was the only American working in a museum division – everyone else was a Brit (and my dear friends). We had a routine when guests would visit from the UK. My British collogues would introduce the visiting Brit to me with the question, “Can you guess where he/she is from?” After listening to the visitor’s accent, I always responded, “Australia!” There was an immediate reaction - like a sour note. Lol

A few more terms (among many) our UK cousins just get wrong:

UK: biscuit = US: cookie
UK: lift= US: elevator
UK: lorry = US: truck
UK: holiday = US: vacation
UK: car park = US: parking lot
UK: petrol = US: gasoline
UK: windscreen = US: windshield
UK: pudding = US: dessert
UK aluminium = US: aluminum
UK: solicitor = US: attorney
UK: football = US: soccer
UK: nappies = US: diapers
UK: tube = US: subway
UK: hospital = US: the hospital

Come on guys…get it right! And, Happy Boxing Day - whatever that is? :lol:
