I Fully Agree ,

however for the users who have little or no use for the new feature set, $49 for the just the gui is a bit too much to justify a just go for it upgrade.

But if L6 has a return policy on the upgrade then people should surely check it out.

also i mentioned the term "is just a new interface" in context to "will my previous tones and presets sound the same"

:)

wtf? how can that be, lol! it's in the farm though and i can't find the soldano amp.

i tried some things to get it back but i failed miserably. any ideas?

WTF is right! I had no issues with my upgrade. I would suggest re-installing Gearbox, but before you make anymore changes check out the Line 6 forums and post your issue there. Everyone is buzzing over there with POD Farm 1.0.

Just to clear up any confusion.

1. Pod Farm is a free standalone application for Toneport owners and it gives you dual tones from a single input.

2. Pod Farm is a free plug in for all X3 and X3L owners, Gearbox is still the editor for X3.

3. Anyone who owns the plug in already in any device automatically gets the free upgrade.

Sounds more than fair to me.

It seems like POD Farm amp models sound a bit clearer and more focused (defined) but me ears may be playin' tricks on me?

I did crash RiffWorks when trying to save a new patch (preset) so hopefully that was a fluke. Have you guys found any bugs?

One more thing...I had to adjust latency because I was getting popping and clicking. I think POD Farm eats more resources than GearBox by quite a lot! Maybe Atalwar can comment on this. I upped my buffer size to 512 when with GearBox I could run quite nicely at 256. No big deal I guess but it's nice to have lower latency when using the plug-in. If you are using "Tone Direct" via TonePort or GuitarPort you probably won't know wtf I'm talking about...LOL Is anyone else here using something besides the Line 6 devices to connect noticing this???

Thx,
Rich

I experience the same, it sounds ... bigger, clearer, deeper ... especially when I play bass. Could it be the new drivers?

I downloaded it as well this afternoon. Installed fine. All of the GearBox presets are available as well as the "new" ones.

I agree with what others have said, I think it does sound better than before....however only slightly.

The interface is much cooler, and that alone is worth the download.

I got the farm....I gotta a new guitar.... I gotta find some time to play....all looks way cool to me, just have to find my way around it a bit now....

added later....ok, been messing with the Farm and I think it's awesome. It might all be psychological, but I do think the sounds are better than gearbox, but the dual tone stuff is great, particularly on clean sounds where it really shines. I also I love the addition of song tones. try the 'Another One bites the Dust' tone...sweet.....

will there be problems or just the same problems as now?

i'll check the line6 forums now too.

hmm, i too think it sounds a bit fuller and richer. but why would l6 say it's the same.

Maybe there was something in the previous they missed or didn't fix and just don't wanna tell people its fixed.

nevertheless it's a fine upgrade.

Rich, i was having latency issues too, but from what i found out my problem was i had too many presets (in 10's of thousands from some archive that i dont even use under some sub folder) and the farm was scanning them for information for its database. I removed those and stopped it from scanning and clicking and popping was gone.

Also a tip for those who want the podfarm or other plugins in the main amp menu of RW.

in rwinstallfolder>resources folder there is a file called vstamps.dat (for vst users)

you can load that into a text editor like notepad and add your plugins each in their own line in the format listed below. ex.

"VoxengoBoogex.dll":"Boogex"
"POD Farm.dll":"Pod FARM"
