fooks,

in windows i located the large presets folder and then cut the files and pasted(moved) them to another folder out of the paths that podfarm is using.

If you are not sure where your presets are physically located on hard drive you can click the large presets button in pod farm and then the folders button, it will show you the paths for folders it's using for loading presets.

After moving the presets out, you have to use refresh button in pod farm so it can remove the presets from its database that have been moved (the red ones).

8000-9000 presets should not slow it down though once it has scanned all.

i had that old customtone.com archive that had maybe 20000 or more presets and that was causing problems for me.

To check the difference in tones, just dial in one of your presents in Podfarm. The shut it down. Start gearbox and dial in the same tone and shut it down. Reopen the Farm with the same tone. Then just start gearbox. When I did this Gearbox took over and you could do a straight A/B test. Only problem was that after shutting down gearbox you have to restart the farm...Tones def better though, unless we are all going mad....

It looks to be a soft tone interface that competes with alot of 'room' oriented apps out there now. Add the dual amp thing which is also found in many newer soft apps out as well as from the Vetta and XT floors.. I have no complaints, this looks good and has cool functionality.

2 nights ago I downloaded the latest GB, but didn't try it until the next day. when I did, a lot of my amps disappeared or gave me substitutions. this shouldn't happen b/c I've bought all the model packs. since my line 6 RW flakes out on me so often, I figured a reboot might get my tones back....and it did! I have not gone to the farm yet, i'll watch this thread and see how it goes

Got a question for some of the guys who d/loaded the POD farm..I've just got it from Line6 to run with my POD xt live but I seem to be having problems with it. I have everything d/loaded and activated onto line monkey but when i try to run it thru my xt live i just get it telling me,"No authorised device connected.Pod farm cannot process audio." If anyone has any info on this I would be grateful for some feedback as to what might be going wrong????....Thanx!!!

ian it won't run as standalone with podxt and podx3.

for pod units only the plug-in can be used (vst, au or TDM)

i.e we podxt users won't be able to benefit from the tonedirect zero latency thing that standalone gearbox gives. Other than that the plugin just works fine.

if you have installed it correctly and its enabled in monkey you should be able to load the vst plugun in RW. if you don't see that, then copy the pod farm.dll file to your
vstplugins folder that RW references.

atalwar wrote:Also a tip for those who want the podfarm or other plugins in the main amp menu of RW.

in rwinstallfolder>resources folder there is a file called vstamps.dat (for vst users)

you can load that into a text editor like notepad and add your plugins each in their own line in the format listed below. ex.

"VoxengoBoogex.dll":"Boogex"
"POD Farm.dll":"Pod FARM"

Dude, you rock!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY :) :D

No, but I am getting RiffWorks to crash the more I play with it and try to save settings and make adjustments....anyone else exp. crashes??

Meesh, check to make sure the "Stereo" button in RiffWorks is off and you are just recording mono (single) input....

Can someone please explain to me how to set the echo. I can see the BPM and know how to set that, but I don't understand musical notation, so I don't know what's going on with with the time. Do I need the synch illuminated and what do the numbers mean? How do I get a dotted 8th, which was easy in GB? Half time, quarter time?

sync just puts the delay according to meter. If you break it down 1/8th would be shorter than 1/4. I'm not sure which delay you are using and if you have a tap delay or multi delay active and feedback on.
To start, I would turn the feedback down, so you have a single delay slap or just to the point of reverberation. Tweak up the mix or turn the gain up and note how much delay there is and then vary the time(s) in accoradance to your need.

In a multi-tapped feature, different taps will have different times opposed to the main delay. I think I explained this correctly. Free to step up anyone.
