If you have Vista on there.. I'd leave it if you have ram to support it...2gb should be ok but 3-4 is preferred. I run Vista home 32 bit and XP.. I've had very little problems with Vista and RW myself on stock machines.

Kewl. The sucky part of everything is the transfer / reinstall of all my programs that I've noticed that I have to hunt down drivers for!

Vista gets all your drivers automatically and does a good job too, though not all devices are supported under Vista, like my WD external drive that has no Vista driver but it works anyway.

Sounds like a potential sponsor to hit up for 'the' prize..the ultimate recording machine.
Latency has now become a thing of the past by about the next 5-10 years. I wonder how it upgrades?

Really Vista is not all that bad....I would stick with it and you will find it is fine. Going back to XP when it gonna be phased out may not be the best choice long term.

Embrace Vista, ignore the haters....lol

Soon we all be using Windows 7 anyways......

I see that you can download a beta version of Windows 7 at Microsoft's website if you dare.

ahh, cool. Time for a new build then to try it out. This seems more geared towards laptops and lighter PCs but I won't mind giving it a spin on a new dual boot.

I have another question. Now I'm getting theses "pops" when I'm playing with Gear Box that I never got before. I mean I just seriously jumped up with the processor and ram. Can anyone shed some light on it?
