Latency is a problem for some and NOT others...Rick Andrews and his Guitarport have almost none......me and my TonePort UX2 have almost none as well..........Methinks it's a matter of the slider thingy in the Line 6 setup plus a matter of computer processor power/speed.
And yes Line 6 tones DO rule.......it's the easiest option for most.......but other tones mix in rather well!

imo Most of line6 stuff users that are in hard rock/metal would have the metal pack.

I had bought it a year or two back when it was $99 and it was worth every penny even then.

irrespective of the plugin you use, they need to be tweaked. If you go with factory settings you will always be disappointed as the tones were dialed with a specific guitar and by a specific player.

btw line 6 metal amps through real cabinet impulse responses sound surreal.

After seeing the video/audio demos for the new Fender interface and getting a $50 off coupon code, I'm really thinking seriously about getting it. I've always wanted a '65 Twin and this is the 'cheapest' way to get it (among lots of other things!).

As soon as anyone here gets it...please post a review!!

Hey Chris,

I got that same $50 coupon and was considering it myself. Amplitube Fender really nails the Fender Twin (my LEAST favorite Line 6 model) and Bassman sounds. Not too crazy about some of the others (based on these audio previews) though. The bass models sound good. Hmmmm. I may have to wait until they offer a demo and I can tweak these myself. Still wavering...

I've never had ANY issue with latency using Amplitube products btw. Well, for whatever that is worth to you guys. Best way is to try it and see. Just experiment and have fun! :) Oh, and report your findings of course ;) :D

Just downloaded the demo version for a test drive  First thoughts....

Easily the most realistic amp modeling I've heard yet! That's a big claim. These amp models are very life-like and emulate that tubey feel in a way that makes me wonder....what took so long?! For that vintage Fender amp tone....THIS is the new benchmark!

This thing drinks CPU power and then asks for more. :( Not a good thing, really...Line 6 and Overloud have figured out how to keep CPU usage low (thus proving that it's doable). IKM needs to work on this....

The pedal effects came with mixed feelings. This vintage phaser is delicious! Very analog, very warm and very usable!! The vintage reverb unit is equally delightful (and then some). This may be the first time we've heard THAT tube reverb sound in an amp modeler. Tape delay modeling is excellent (as I thought it would be) but that's standard fare at this stage of development and nothing jaw dropping. It's just plain GOOD!! The rest of the effects....well....in a word, they're just about useless (to me). There is a LOT missing here! Maybe I'll come around to appreciating the "Blender" in time. Who knows....

Ok, the cabs are standard AmpliTube with the exception of the new Groove Tube mics. These prove to be a surprising addition to the assortment. These mics work REALLY well in context. The Vibratone cabinet OTOH is special :) It just speaks for itself! C'mon, it's the best emulation of a rotary speaker and if you've heard it, you KNOW it's true! It's smooth and articulate without being overly-hyped and dramatic as other rotary speaker emulations tend to be.

The cab modeling really starts to shine with some added "Ambiance". Turn that knob to add the room into it and you'll hear something that may surprise you. It's alive! You really do hear the room in there. Very vibey and great for injecting a "live" feel into the performance.

One more thing... the tube reverb in rack format (for post-amp processing) was not included. What?!?! That sucks! They gave us tape delay in both positions so, why not the reverb?

All sorted out....IMO Amplitube Fender is probably the best SOUNDING digital modeler that attempts to capture the Fender sound and vibe! This alone may justify the price (well, for me anyway :D). They worked hard on it and it really shows!! For the effects, I'll give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. I might have given a lower score of 5 if the phaser, tube echo and reverb pedals weren't so damn good

There is some work to do to make this the best amp modeling software ever but daaaaaamn, they just nailed these amp tones in a way that makes me wanna jump out o' my chair and scream :o
