Hi!

A simple question, I was wondering if it is wise to use RF mouse and keyboard in a desktop recording environment. Haven't bought them yet.

That's what I use (I'm assuming my wireless is RF, since there's no IR coming off the keyboard or mouse). I haven't run into any issues other than occasionally something likes to interfere with the mouse. My keyboard and mouse have separate receivers and both sit right next to my WiFi router, so I'm probably asking for trouble anyway!

No probs here either Jouni. I've had mine at least 2 years now.

In fact it allows me to keep my PC tower about 4-6 feet away from my Tele pickups to avoid that computer hum when ya get to close.

I recommend rechargeable batteries and back batteries for it. Plus I wish I had an on off switch on the mouse as the optical LED will eat up the batteries when not in use. I take the batteries out at night to avoid that, but the on/off switch would avoid that.

Yeah I thought the same but I've checked it .... it's a Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 300.... and the optical eye stays on albeit a little dimmer (when not in use) but I've noticed that if I turn it "off" the batteries last 4 times as long. Don't remember the price range maybe $60.00 American.
Anyways it's no biggie on the battery usage as I always have a lot of AA rechargeable's on hand. Just swap and keep going.

(EDIT checked the price $39.99)

I change my batteries about every 6 months or so in my Logitech set....a little window pops up to tell me when they are getting low.......idiot proof.....perfect for me.

Yeah no idiot here :O.... I get the same window.....just NOT in 6 months. that would be nice, but alas my batteries last by my aforementioned technique about 4 weeks. :(

I think it depends on the unit and how much power saving they've designed in it. My Logitech keyboard batts last about 6 months, the ones in my MS mouse about 4 weeks. Rechargeables are the way to go for me especially with all the remotes and Wii's and stuff!
