Heya, since it's a demo I rather not overloading Riffworld which in my opinion should be used to cast full songs.

Therefore, I'd like to share a demo recorded (with riffworks, of course!) of a quite nice amp, which is the Trace Elliot - Velocette 12R with a Weber Blue Dog Ceramic.

Note: You may find more info on this amp as a "Gibson Goldtone GA-15RV" where Gibson bought it after 1 or 2 yrs production.

Some info:

Demo Velocette 12R.

It's a 192Kb MP3 : Download from here-> http://www.freedrive.com/folder/192464

Setup:

Amp: Trace Elliot Velocette 12R
Guitar: G&L w/ Suhr V60 LP set (all singles)
• Progression: Neck & Middle pups
• Solo: Just Neck

Drums: Groove Agent (needed a bebob' ish laid-back one, and don't have in my ID sets)

Bass: Bonemarck Broomstick Bass (VST)

Mic(s):

Carvin M68 (SM 58/57 alike) dinamic / off axis @ 3'' distance

Audio Technica AT2020 Condenser, @ about 1 foot distance, off axis towards the other side of the cone/axis.

plugged into ->

Preamp: Presonus Bluetube.

plugged into ->

M-Audio Delta 44

Recording Software : Riffworks Standard

Plugins (the only ones used, for "remastering_sort-of_thang):

• Waves L3 Maximizer
• Stillwell Mojo no se que weá
• Waves Noisegate
• PSP Vintage Warmer

Normalized (Audacity) & Amplified by 0.3(db) about 3 times.

The progression is a Classic Jazz (II V I ) - Kinda Supermarket/elevator tune :D

That's it

My kind of sound. Smooth and clean and jazzy. Nice playing and I really liked the bass line. Did you use the Bonemarck Broomstick Bass (VST) in RWS?

Hi Bluesydude, long time no posting here i know.. I'm a guitar bipolar!

How's life? Had you won any RR lately? Is Obama the real promise? :rolleyes:

Well, as you know a VST (non standalone, nor rewire) works with a DAW that supports it, but I usually record demos in this order:

- Progression with drummers (in RW)
- Solo
- Check vols, peaks, compression or clipping

Export to WAV 32bits :cool:

Then I open Reaper and add the VST's to "remaster" and add additional instruments (in this instance, Broomstick Bass)

Finally, I render all, keep the 32 bit WAV and "remaster" on audacity with Normalize, Amplify and Fade in/out if it applies.

I'm not quite comfy by loading a bunch of VST's or rewires on RW, first because we all know that some they work perfectly and some don't, plus I rather keep RW as lite as I can to keep recording as smooth as i can get.

Some notes:

I say "remaster" in quotes coz I have no idea on that, I just've read some tips from here, specially from GatorJJ (thanks) and do my thang on trial/error basis.

My order for recording my be a bit odd, and it varies from one song to another, but I usually do these steps.

The most important thing: If you liked the "smooth jazzy sound" that comes from the amp, means that you are becoming as senile as I am :lol: it's 100% an "Old Farts' Amp" :)

Cheers

Good to hear from you again.

Life is good. I haven't joined a RR since VIII. The jury is still out concerning Obama.
