This is a well known guitarist in sweden. He's got a band called "Freak Kitchen" and tours all the world performing guitar cliniques.

This clip is from a French supermarket where he promotes one of his records, it's looong (30 minutes) where he talks bollocks most of the time, just fastforward to the different songs and watch his technique. This guy has some weird sounds going on.

Here's some buzz about him:

"Mattias is today considered one of the most innovative and ground breaking guitar players around with a fast growing global following from fellow "guitar nerds" to simply true music freaks. Mattias' minimalist, home-brewed, and stripped down approach to the guitar has surprised record buyers and journalists around the world. There simply aren't any signs of expensive guitar effects or processors involved in his playing, despite the sometimes "outlandish" sounds you hear."

"Eklundh's ear for melody is spot on, even during his most avant-garde moments, and an insane cover of Smoke on the Water is just the tip the iceberg. Faster than Malmsteen, smoother than Michael Lee Firkins and, dammit, better than Vai - this is undoubtedly the future of this style of guitar playing".

check out his official homepage www.freakguitar.com and his freak guitar albums. He have some weird songs, but its really cool I think!

That Mathias guy is great, and funny too! He really takes pick harmonics and flageoletts where no man has taken them before...

Interesting for sure, he has mastered the sustainer.......and my god a Gorilla amp!!!! Takes me back to when I was 15, that was my first ever guitar amp. I had no idea anyone still had one of those kicking around.

Always refreshing when guys of that calibre aren't ego freaks......lol
