My research leads me to believe that our friend Colin here is - or was - a bona fide celebrity! Sure I should have known that earlier, but that Holly and the Italians video removed all doubts!

Why have you been so timid about that, Mr Wight? You must have hundreds, nay THOUSANDS of stories to tell! Why don't you? I mean, London in the late 70s, post-punk, damn... that was a time when legends were made!

I think you got the wrong man, Jouni. Count the strings. [Goddamn you are a fast shooter RB, took me 5 secs to realise and fix]

Nope that's a bass Jonil, I'm pure 6 string, anyway, I'm good looking :)....how do you lot post pics.....?

Anyway Red....no not a celebrity, and certainly not a legend...but stories, yeah I've got loads of those.....Incidentally, this is another really tacky vid, that I'm not on, but I played guitar on, and one you might know as it was a reasonable hit in Germany I think. What's interesting about it (see one of the comments) is that I was playing one of the very early guitar synths (not the arpeggio stuff), and I'm quite proud of this recording...Video is hilarious though...gotta love the early 80s....Oh and I wasn't there when they did the Vid...(unfortunatley)

So you're saying you played guitar on a synth pop hymn that has no discernible guitar sounds on it??

The video is hilarious indeed. Damn, Colin, you've GOT to tell the entire story somewhere! Were you constantly on drugs? Were you the former boyfriend of Sid Vicious' first girlfriend? Or something along these lines?

hahaha LOL Christoph, your imagination is so much better than anything I might have done.....:) The reality, apart from some minor incidents is much more mundane....And yep that was a very early Electro-harmonix prototype analogue guitar synth (not the micro synth) that never made it into production because the age of digital was coming. If I still had it now it would be a museum piece....There is a picture of it here....top right:

Quit the fishing for compliments already, Shred :) That's a picture that would leave millions of schoolgirls weak-kneed even today - maybe more than ever! Just look at the latest Kid Rock pictures!

I have a picture of my first band that will destroy my reputation as a Rocker - if I ever had that - forever. Sadly, the software bundle for my scanner/printer won't install, so I can't digitalize and post it... Me and the guys in 1986... the difference to Colin's blood, sweat & tears style post-punk footage is just astounding.

Gotta digitalize it somehow...

This is me 1982, 15 years old. My first stumbling chords on a 20 year old flamenco guitar in the wilderness of Finland. Note the Black Sabbath t-shirt!

This was was in eastern Finland (St Michel/Mikkeli). Even though I was glad Lordi won the eurovision contest I'm not a big fan of them. It sounds just like any Desmond Child production made by ewok's.
