I have an electric/acoustic that I was thinking of putting strap locks on. Then I realized the 1/4 jack and the rear button for the strap are an integrated unit (can't put strap on if you're plugged in).

Anyone face this problem before? What did you do? Put a lock on the front button only? Add new button on the butt someplace?

I don't really like the idea of messing with the integrated jack or putting any new holes in my baby - but I want to know my git is strapped. Ideally, there is some company that makes a solution for this. I checked Dunlop and Schaller and Earnie Ball items. No luck.

Thanks

There's Dunlop's Ergo straplocks:

Also, there are a few varieties of straps that come with an integrated locking system.

And a less elegant, but equally effective solution:

You can also find similar type rubber washers at the hardware store, but remember to pick up some beer while you're in town.

Many of us live in microcosms of our own design. For some, it's the bar at the end of the street...

Hey thanks! Man those are butt ugly buggers too! But on the butt is where it would be going (schaller on front). I would have to see if would still allow me to plug right down the middle with the 1/4" jack though. I like the rubber washer thought too. Maybe I can find some colored rubbers for the old gal! :)

I figured I would get more responses! Hell we got peeps explaining to SWW how to solve all their server problems and such. I figured there must be some rocket scientist here that would provide some solution. :) LOL..

Seriously, this is a weird problem. the solution Charles mentioned may be okay in the end. I wonder if they have rubber washers (rubbers) that match the color of my guitar? :)

Thanks CharlesObscure for the heads-up.

Cheerios!
