All i can say is if you into line6 stuff and don't have these you are seriously limiting yourself, more so if you already own a pod hardware unit.

+5 on these

Sorry, I should have said but if it was me I'd go for the Metal + Collectors classics. You don;t really gain that much with the effects, and a lot of it is synth stuff that you can't really use (unless you are feeling really weird).

When I bought the Pod XT Live, I was delighted to find that it came with the FX Junkie pack installed. Next addition was the Collector Classics, which has some great sounds in it. I'm not a Metal player most of the time, but I like to cut loose once in a while ;), so when I had the cash I bought the Metal Shop pack to complete the collection that was available at the time. Later, the Bass Expansion came out, but I only added it recently as I've been getting into playing bass. I've also collected some favorite tone presets that take advantage of all the Model Packs. I feel like I have everything I need for any situation calling for a certain guitar or bass tone.
I agree, the model packs really open up your capabilities for getting some sweet tones. On the other hand, I know folks that say "This thing already has more tones than I need!" and are happy with the stock unit. Take advantage of the Model Pack deals, you won't regret it!
BTW, if anyone's interested, back when I had more free time I created a couple documents listing the amps and effects available with a fully loaded Pod XT. THey are PDFs that you can print out, tape together and hang on the wall of your music room- collect the whole set!:D
Hopefully these links will work:

OMG +10....Hold on, just coming round from falling over and banging my head. That's not a guitar collection, it's a factory....bleep, you have just one of everything anyone could reasonably want...But what's the first one you pick up to play? If I said I was jealous, I'd be lying.....jealous don't come close.....:)

Believe it or not, the first one I play on a daily basis is my acoustic. Often, I only have ten or fifteen minutes of free time before I have to do something else, and the acoustic is easiest to grab & play quietly. Plus, it's good for a warmup before plugging in. The G-DEC, B-DEC and Pod XTL are also good for some quick jamming when I can be somewhat noisier. I'm glad I don't work weekends anymore, so I have some extended playing time. Thanks to Riffworks, I think I see a way to make the time more constructive.
I do like a little variety in my sonic palette! I still have a few more guits on the wishlist ;), but my finances are holding me back from buying another guitar. I can manage to upgrade things on the ones I have, though. That's what I've been focusing on lately.
Every guitar has a unique voice, like the individual voices that make up a choir. Through the magic of multitracking, I can finally hear what my choir sounds like, and it makes me very happy!:D

I hope so! All those guitars and not one lick posted yet, come out and play Charles!
Thanks for the XTL charts, I just printed them out. Perfect for when people ask "what's that do?".

You're welcome! I had fun making them. I'm glad they're still relevant!:)

I'll be around hopefully this weekend, provided I can get my chores done and I can get into the Riff universe without too many problems.
