My g-dad(wedgebill) and I are going to build a cab, i dont have the best plans for it yet so if u can post some that would be great :)
im going to use a birch ply wood
with 2x12 g12h-100
and 2x12 green backs
im going to either carpet it or maybe get some nice leather :)
maybe a nice blue, green or red haha maybe even orange
I have no idea about the front what should i use a vinyl?

what do you think?

any ideas? or comments?
im sure when we start making it well take pics and post on here

Cowhide is pretty cool vs. carpet! Hides aren't that expensive either.. Maybe your grand-pappa can get you a gator hide!

There was a really good article some time ago in Guitar player magazine that outlined the different designs for the insides and woods of the really good cabs. Dig thru some back issues online or something cause it was pretty deep on the whole how cabs are designed thing.

Apparently how the joints are done (no... not those joints, those are for after you put the saw away) that makes a big difference.

DO NOT USE ANY CARPET!!!!!! FOOKS WITH THE TONE!!!!! USE A VINYL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT....sorry for caps lol.....or just stain it !!!

Don't forget to look up the specs on how much space should surround the speaker(s) to get the most optimal sound out of the speakers. I myself have always liked the rear loaded cabs rather than the front loaded cabs as with Marshall style cabs. I also always like the straight cabs over the slanted cabs as well.

Good luck with this and can't wait to see/hear the end product. Sounds like your gonna have some fun with Gramps.
