I took it as Ubuntu itself is not stable, anyway Sparky, I'll try Ubuntu cause thats what I was recommended at work to try first. Maybe I'll dual boot it with Fedora cause I heard it's harder to learn than Ubuntu and I figure if I'm going to learn it I might as well tackle the big one.

Ubuntu is easier to duel boot.
the installer has a way of splitting partitions.
you basically have a bar, and a line in the middle. you drag the bar to the amount of space you want windows to have, and ubuntu to have.
it does all the hard partitioning work for you.
edit: now that I think of it, you can jsut install ubuntu as a windows program, through Wubi. the only problem with this, is that ubuntu will fail to boot after a hard reboot of windows. to fix this, just start up windows, then reboot the system.

after that finishes, restart your system, and choose either windows or ubuntu.
