Yup, the original release date was set for next Tuesday, but they apparently bumped it up to today, at least at the Best Buy stores (the official release partner or whatever you call it).

The sleeve is a thermal reactive thing. When you touch it, you can see the images on it. But at room temperature, it's kind of a classic black really. The question you have to ask yourself is "how much more black could it possibly be", and the answer is "none, more black" (said in best Nigel voice of course).

I just picked it up for 11.99 at Best Buy. They also have it in Vinyl, which I would have bought if I owned a turntable (at times, I really miss good old analog thump from vinyl).

Anyway, I'm listening to it now, and haven't gotten to a bad song yet. Several badASS songs, but no bad songs. It's definitely worth the purchase, even for a guy who hasn't bought a cd since Lenny Kravitz' greatest hits back around 02 or 03.

Don't walk, RUN to your nearest best buy and pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Beau

They have a special on Facebook for a $3.99 download from Amazon.... I'd prefer the CD myself.... so I'm gonna buy it on my next day off. :)

Wow, 3.99 for the whole thing? That's a bargain! I wanted the cd too. But alas, as we speak, I'm converting it to mp3 so I can put it on my ipod. Go figure....

Pretty much the same thing here.....I downloaded the digital version of the CD but haven't listened to it yet...maybe on the way to work tomorrow....after all the hype the Conan performance fell a little flat for me.

They probably listened too much to their own hype rather than striving to push for better material. Yes men are dangerous.

I listened to the 4 tracks on MySpace but they were nothing `great`. They would have had fun I'm sure but it was just generic rock. Kind of like a watered down ACDC but with no memorable riffs or vocal hooks.

The Conan performance was bad, there are better live clips on Youtube already from various shows that put that one to shame. I think people expected too much initially...and ithey are over hyped a bit. Live gigs like Conan always sound bad, and subdued regardless of the band.

I am not disappointed with the album, there are some good songs that will grow on you as you listen to them. But I was not expecting it to be very good, so from my perspective I was pleasantly surprised. :) Joe is still great, and there is some serious guitar playing on the album.

Overall I would give a 7. Try to get past the released tunes on MySapce and listen to some of the other lesser know known ones. Whatever you do don`t let a live performance on TV be the reason you don`t give the album a full listen. Cause I think live performances like that always sound horrible (did I mention that already LOL).

Learning to Fall, although a ballad is decent tune. My Kinda Girl is another good one. I love the vibe on Sexy Little Thing. That tune they played on Conan was probably the worst possible choice they could have made with no hope of ever being able to reproduce that gang style backing vocal live, which just made the song sound thin and lifleless. Ala Def Leppard......cough.........lol

But some of the other live vids on youtube make me still want to catch a life performance. Don`t analyze......listen. It is good old, fun times rock and roll album....nothing more and nothing less. If it is your thing you will like it, if not you won`t. Life changing.....Uh....no. But not bad.....not as bad as some people are going on about. There are always skeptics, and not everyone will like everything, hence the choice to not buy it. It doesn`t suck, it just may not be your cup of tea.

I still have to add........kudos to Sammy for still looking and sounding as good as he does at his age. Man the guy is my Dad`s age and can still kick it! If you were not a fan of Hagar, I doubt you will be now, but nobody can deny is staying power.

Ha Ha Losty! I thought I'd be polite, didn't know if anyone actually would like it and didn't wan't to offend. I know my taste is different than alot of folks here.
But yah it really sucks ass! lol
I guess for me the only real hope was Chad Smith being in the band................oh well.

If you want a cool "super-type-group" check out Oysterhead,
Les Claypool from Primus on bass and vocals
Trey Anastasio from Phish on guitar and vocals
Stu Copeland from The Police on drums

I gave the CD a good listen to and from work........and give it a 2 thumbs UP! Oh well different strokes for......well ya'll know. We all have different tastes so it ain't gonna be for everyone

Excellent driving music........some music just doesn't translate well live.......one of the cool things 'bout the Conan appearance was Joe giving Conan his guitar at the end.....

Anyone know what song that was that they played on Conan?

Shred ....I agree with you on all points my man. Wiser words have never been spoken. :)
