Topic: Can we listen to Riffworld on apple devices?

When I open Riffcaster on my iPhone, I get the crossbones and "enable flash and javascript to listen".  Of course Apple and Adobe aren't playing nice together.  Is there any other way to be able to listen to Riffcasts on Apple gadgets?

Hello ThrobbyRobby,

We are currently using a flash player as you are well aware. We are exploring other possibilities including HTML5 so that they could be available on IOS devices but it could be a while before this becomes a reality.

Thanks for your prompt response Jason.

I guess I'm gonna have to raise hell with Apple then...
Do you know why Apple won't work with Adobes flash player?  I'm curious....

Robby if you go to the songs page in Safari you can click on the mp3 link and the Riffcast will download and play with the Quicktime player on your iPhone/iPod.....just click done when finished and you go back to the Riffcast song that you were on.  You will have to pinch and enlarge the page to see that tiny little mp3 link. smile

One way is to publish a podcast from any Riffworld members homepage and from the public riffcasts pages so that one can subscribe to them. That way you could listen to Riffworld music on ANY Apple device.

A couple of years back Riffworld had this feature and I used it a lot, imagine a podcast of all the RR17 entries, subscribe to it and automatically download all entries (through iTunes) to your iPod. No "Save as ..." hassle.

I for sure would appreciate if Sonoma would reconstitute that feature!

Mousse, thanks for the links, great reading and it explained everything.
Mickey, thanks for the workaround!
Jounil, tho I never used the podcast feature when it was available, I wish I could use it now.  It would be great to have it back.
Thanks agian my friends for the great responses.

Jason, I hope it's not too long before the site is updated to be compatible with Apple devices.  It seems everyone is moving to html5.
