Re: The OFFICIAL NAMM 2010 Sonoma Wire Works thread!

NAMM Day One:

Today Hayden and I set off from the San Jose airport to Orange County. The flight was a little crummy for us because we're both getting over sinus infections and on antibiotics. Doug and Michelle drove down yesterday, and the rest of the Sonoma crew will coming and going all week.

We're staying close to the convention center which is really nice. Check out this view from King Dug's room:

It was my first time at a NAMM, and I'm already overwhelmed! Today was a flurry of activity with forklifts, cranes, and people moving boxes in and out. All the major players and most of the minor ones are here in full force, setting up tremendous booths and displays. I can't convey the enormity of it all, it has to be seen.

Setting up the booth took hours. Hayden was a real trooper, look at the smile on his face:

Doug and Michelle want our booth to be inviting and homey. Don't they look comfortable?
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e331/polaremusic/photo-2-2.jpg

But our booth also has to razzle dazzle them, so like the TAXI convention, we've got flashy electronic frames showcasing all of our products:

By the end of the night, the booth was really starting to come together:

After we finished, Doug, Michelle, and I went out to eat and had the BEST meal ever: Blackened Mahi Mahi, Crab and Avocado tostadas, and Tomato Risoto. Unfortunately Hayden wasn't feeling well so he missed out on the killer dinner.

I'm about to head to bed, tomorrow is the first day! Goodnight everyone smile

PRS had one of the classiest booths:

Things were busy on Friday. This crowd was partially due to Carlos Santana giving a (political) speech:

Just having Dave Mustane there would make it worth it for me. Did you get a chance to talk to him?

I used to be a big Megadeth fan back in the Countdown to Extinction days. Not so much thereafter, but that album had me hooked for a long time. Still a great album that I enjoy listening too, but I wish they'd remix it. It's always been really strong on the treble and lacking in the bass/mid-bass.

Didn't speak with Dave as I was trying to rush between a few different booths that had artists signing at the same time. The lines were VERY long and a lot of people waited well over an hour. A lot of people waited and never got to meet with the artist they were waiting to see too.

Great show though! It was pretty surreal to be in the same building with so many amazing artists, producers, companies, etc etc.

Cool pics guys, and glad to see you all having so much fun. However, have you got any pics of the army of gnomes working on the rifflink server and the new back end? Where's that booth? That's what I really want to see....sorry, I know...broken record and all that!

Re: The OFFICIAL NAMM 2010 Sonoma Wire Works thread!

Great pics Randy! Yes it was so much fun and it was really good for Sonoma. We got some great buzz going and people seemed to really love what we do. I think we got the boost we all needed!
