Topic: Playback stops short

Hey guys,

First time here. I just want to say I really love this product and appreciate the work that goes into and continues to. I purchased it back when it was fairly new and the amount of updates and features added over time is more than I could have asked for.

That said, I hit a lull in my songwriting and didn't use the app for some time until more recently. And since I've started using it again I've had an issue of playback stopping at some point before the end of the recording. At most it has gotten halfway, at worst it gets to 23 seconds, which is where I'm at tonight.

I have an iPhone 3g with the latest firmware and the latest 4 track update. I use the built in mic of the phone. Convenient and works well enough for me and didn't have any problems with it in the past.

Viewing the file in the song tools tab reveals the length of the recording is what it should be, but it stops well short of that during playback. Restarting the app and recording over the track produces the same results. It stops at exactly the same amount of time it did before.

Recording works fine with the 1st party voice recorder.

I thought it could be a memory issue but I've restarted the phone and deleted files from 4 track and the iPod portion of the phone and no dice.

Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated. Now that I'm starting to get back into songwriting I realize how invaluable this app is to me for conveniently taking down ideas.

Well, the tracks are complete when transferred to my pc so at least it's taking down my ideas. It's solely a playback issue then.

I'm going to do a major flush soon, possibly even a reformat. It's been a while. Maybe it's a memory issue.

Our engineers have found a solution to the problem you have described, an update will be released shortly.

Hey thanks! Just downloaded this app an hour ago and recorded a test track and am running into the same issue. I appreciate the response. How soon will the update/repair be released, do you know? The 30 seconds of the recording that I can hear is AWESOME!!! This will be a great app once I can get it working properly!!!

I believe an update will be submitted today, but it takes some time to be approved by Apple. We appreciate your patience, and yes, I think you'll really enjoy the software once we get everything optimized!
