Click CREATE from within the RIFFS panel to create a new Riff. Set the TEMPO, LENGTH and SIGNATURE before you start to record, as these settings will be locked once you start laying down LAYERS. You can change the backups at any time, though now is also a great time to select an INSTANTDRUMMER that best fits the mood of your forthcoming song.

DUPLICATE an existing Riff so that you can expand on it for another part of your song. Example: You've made a Riff that contains bass and rhythm guitar layers, but you want to have a solo on top of those two in a later part of the song. Duplicate the riff, and then add the solo to the copy. You've just saved yourself the process of having to re-record the rhythm guitar and bass parts.

You can also duplicate Riffs by right-clicking on the Riff while holding and dragging the Riff to an empty rectangle within the RiffList grid.
