How do I upgrade from RiffWorks (v1) to RiffWorks Line 6 Edition (v2)?

RiffWorks is a Sonoma Wire Works product. Line 6 is a distributor of Sonoma Wire Works' RiffWorks Standard and was the distributor of RiffWorks Line 6 Edition. RiffWorks Line 6 Edition has been discontinued. RiffWorks Line 6 Edition users are encouraged to upgrade/crossgrade to RiffWorks Standard v2.5. Please disregard this guide page and upgrade to RiffWorks Standard v2.5

Here's how to update from RiffWorks v1 to RiffWorks Line 6 Edition v2.2.2:

RiffWorks v1

  • Do not Uninstall RiffWorks v1 first.

Installing RiffWorks Line 6 Edition

  • Run the Line 6 Monkey (upgrade to the newest version if prompted to do so).
  • Login in the Monkey.
  • Go to the updates tab.
  • Select RiffWorks and click the Update button.
  • A browser window will open with the download.

Activation with Line 6 Monkey

  • If you purchased and activated RiffWorks v1 after Feb 1, 2006, a button should appear in the monkey in the Add-ons tab to activate RiffWorks v2.
  • If you want to purchase the upgrade, click the purchase button.

Moving InstantDrummers from v1 to RiffWorks Line 6 Edition v2

  • After installing RiffWorks Line 6 Edition v2 with v1 still installed...
  • Go to Program Files\Line6\RiffWorks\drummers\
  • Copy the .swd files for add-on drummers to the new location

Documents and Settings\All Users\Sonoma Wire Works\drummers\

  • Run RiffWorks Line 6 Edition to confirm the v1 drummers are working.
  • You may now uninstall v1 if you want by running the RiffWorks (v1) Uninstaller.

REGISTRATION & ACTIVATION WITH SONOMA WIRE WORKS

In order to get your two additional free InstantDrummer sessions and purchase any others, you simply need to register at the Sonoma Wire Works store via the link below. Registration provides you with a SonomaKey user name and password that enables RiffLink online collaboration, RiffCaster song posting, and gives you access to RiffWorld.com.

Register in our store if you haven't already created a SonomaKey username and password in either our forums or store. This SonomaKey will give you the ability post your songs and collaborate online as well as grant you free access to your user profile on RiffWorld.com.

ACTIVATE WITH SONOMA WIRE WORKS

Activate RiffWorks by clicking the RiffCast button in RiffWorks and entering the SonomaKey username and password in the Activation Window.

GET RIFFWORKS 2.1.1 UPDATE

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition has been updated to version 2.1.1. To get this update, launch RiffWorks and click "Yes" in the window that asks you if you'd like to update. You will be taken to a page with the download link. 2.1.1 update is required for registration with Sonoma Wire Works and access to RiffWorld.com.
