Rolling Stone Features StudioTrack and FourTrack

In Rolling Stone's January 19, 2012 Issue, John Dioso says, "The new version of GuitarJack remains the top-of-the-line instrument-to-iPhone interface: It connects via the iPhone's or iPad's 30-pin dock, which makes for impeccable sound with no discernible noise. Its solid aluminum body also has a 1/8-inch input for a microphone, so you can record on two tracks simultaneously, using the company's FourTrack or StudioTrack app."

New York Times GuitarJack

"Some New Little Treasures for the iPhone" by Bob Tedeschi of The New York Times: "Using an external device like...GuitarJack, guitarists can plug their instrument into the iPhone and add layers of stomp-box sound."

Loop Insight GuitarJack

"The design of the GuitarJack is stunning. It's sleek, attractive and something you would be proud to carry around with your Apple device. But this is a guitar device, so the proof is in the sound...it worked beautifully...the quality of the signal was evident. I’ve been a fan of Sonoma Wire Works for many years. They are a company that cares about its users and they make very high-quality software and hardware products. If you’re looking for a device to play your guitar on the iPhone or iPad, I highly recommend GuitarJack 2."

Palm Sounds "What really strikes you is the quality of the GuitarJack Model 2. Not just the external build quality, but the sound quality through the device. The line in is great too, it works very well to have a stereo in for the iPhone or iPad.

Audio Tuts "GuitarJack 2 is everything that GuitarJack 1 was, and more. The sound quality is really good. Some of the apps are free, and FourTrack is well worth the extra ten bucks. You should seriously consider checking out GuitarJack."

EQ Magazine "THIS THING IS BUILT LIKE A TANK! It’s got some weight to it but thats a good thing especially when you hear the sound quality from it! GuitarJack Model 2 is definitely a must have. If you're serious about music-making, this thing will not disappoint."

Music Connection New Toys Barry Rudolph "Like the original, GuitarJack Model 2 is a premium quality audio interface for connecting a wide range of instruments and microphones to iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod Touch (2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation) iOS devices. GJ2 plugs into and is powered via the docking port of those popular products and turns them into professional audio tools"

One Like Son Releases Album Made on the iPhone

For their third record, Start the Show, One Like Son decided to challenge themselves by recording it entirely on the iPhone. Where most music composed on the iPhone or iPad sounds like digital music, this record sounds like a live rock and roll band. The guitar-heavy group recorded in hotel rooms, bedrooms and school classrooms... basically anywhere they could bring an iPhone and their instruments. Daniel Codella of Sonoma Wire Works says, "Out of all the E.P's and "albums" I've come across that claim to be recorded entirely on the iPhone, One Like Son's "Start the Show" is the most impressive by far. One Like Son have produced a full blown rock record on the iPhone that sounds like it was recorded using thousands of dollars’ worth of gear. One Like Son have really set the bar for what can be done with an inexpensive mobile recording setup. Bravo!"

Check out news coverage for this album on TechCrunch, Mashable and NBC Bay Area.

Updated Artist Spotlights

John Kunkel (The New Division)

Shadows

The New Division became indie darlings after the release of their incredible EP, "The Rookie." These boys from Riverside, CA are about to raise their profile even higher with the release of their new LP, "Shadows." Combining the 80s synth sounds of "The Rookie" with more modern house and trance influences, "Shadows" weaves a surprisingly cohesive tale, although frontman John Kunkel explains it didn't begin that way. Check out this, and other lights John casts on "Shadows" in the interview below.

New York Times GuitarJack

In The New York Times technology blog, Gadgetwise, Bob Tedeschi wrote "." Bob Tedeschi commented on GuitarJack's professional build and sound quality. "The GuitarJack plugs into your mobile device's 30-pin connector, unlike other devices, which connect to the headphone port. Sonoma's president, Douglas Wright, said the device filters noise more completely as a result, and my informal tests supported his assertion... [GuitarJack is] meant for more serious musicians who would like a mobile recording studio in their pocket." Read the Full Article "App Smart Extra: GuitarJack"

Recording Magazine "GuitarJack is the best sounding device I've heard in its class, and the additional apps from the same manufacturer are ideal complements...This hardware/software system is worthy of applause for the creative possibilities it offers and for its high quality." - by Fernando Curiel in Recording Magazine.

EQ Magazine "GuitarJack is ideal for musicians on the go. But it's also a clean, clear, robust audio interface that far outpaces the audio capabilities of the iPhone/iPod Touch itself - if you're into listening to music on the road, plugging your phones into GuitarJack beats plugging directly into the host... this is a durable, hi-fi winner." - "EQ Magazine - Craig Anderton

Big-Geek.com GuitarJack "Contrast that with the GuitarJack sample and you'll hear a much deeper, more resonant guitar tone that isn't competing at all with the background hiss present in the AmpKit sample... Listen to the samples though and I'm sure you'll hear there is a clear difference." - GuitarJack vs. Ampkit LiNK - by Big-Geek.com
