The 88
The 88 made major waves when they recorded their hit single "Love is the Thing" entirely in FourTrack. To celebrate the release of FourTrack 3.0, The 88 have recorded a song specifically for FourTrack users entitled "Todd in D." We had a chance to talk to Adam Merrin of The 88 and find out more about the track:
What was your inspiration behind the new song "Todd in D"?
We wanted to write something fun that people could download for free and do whatever they wanted with it. Who says the music business is dead? It's alive and well, and we're very excited to be a part of all these new ideas!
What instruments were used to record this tune? Who plays what?
Todd started the song by coming up with the bass part, Adam then played the organ, piano, and Wurlitzer (all on a Nord Stage 88), Keith played the electric guitar (Gibson 335 through a Divided by 13 amp), percussion, and sang the vocals, and Anthony played the drums (San Francisco Drum Co.).
Where can people learn more about The 88 and hear more songs?
People can find us on the88.net, Facebook, and MySpace.
