Jason Ferguson, Technical Support
Fulltime with Sonoma Wire Works since March 2009

SWW: How did you start working for Sonoma Wire Works?
Jason: I was lucky enough to know the marketing assistant/artist relations guru (Daniel) who let me know there was a position open for technical support. I thought I might enjoy the challenge so I applied.

SWW: What do you do here at Sonoma Wire Works?
Jason: I handle the first line of tech support. I answer pretty much all of the emails during the week and try to help solve everyone's problems. If I can't, I meet with the engineers to help solve the issues.

SWW: In addition to tech support, you've done a lot of work with our advertising. Can you tell us about that?
Jason: My background is actually in film. I spent a number of years freelancing doing video and motion graphics work. I really enjoy doing that, so it's nice that I get to do that here for promotional materials like the GuitarJack video. I also did the Sonoma Wire Works logo animation.

SWW: Do you have any more video projects for Sonoma Wire Works in the near future?
Jason: I plan to put together some video tutorials to help new and current users get the most out of our software.

SWW: When people write in to support, is there anything they can include to make it easier to address their issues?
Jason: The biggest thing I'd say is the more details, the better. Sometimes messages come into the support cue with only a few words, and it doesn't let me know what is going on. If users provide all the details: the error code, their system specs, their version numbers, etc, I could answer their questions much faster because I won't have to send them an email asking for those things.

SWW: What do you do in your free time?
Jason: In my free time I spend a lot of time with my family, my wife, and my nephews and nieces. I also do Brazilian Jujitsu.

SWW: Since working for Sonoma, you've gotten more exposed to the audio world. How did you enjoy NAMM?
Jason: It was a blast. I got to see so many sides of the industry. I also got to learn more about the companies who make products that work with our products, which helps me make support more effective.

SWW: Where do you see Sonoma Wire Works heading?
Jason: I am excited to see what happens with the GuitarJack. I had so much fun on our roadtrip seeing what the artists were doing with it. I am excited to see the customer's response when they get it, and when they see that there really is nothing else like it. Everyone who is skeptical will be blown away. I have a feeling it's going to get very busy around here.
