About GuitarJack Model 2: GuitarJack connects instruments and microphones to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch via 1/4-inch instrument and 1/8-inch stereo mic/line inputs. GuitarJack's 1/8-inch stereo line/headphone output offers increased drive for headphones. When used with apps like FourTrack (iPhone) and StudioTrack (iPad), GuitarJack offers stereo recording and simultaneous instrument and voice recording, crosstalk free multitrack recording, level control, input monitoring, and the highest quality sound when compared to other iOS audio interfaces. GuitarJack features 60 dB of continuous level control, and offers configurable Pad, Lo-Z and Hi-Z modes. GuitarTone and TaylorEQ are free apps that include the GuitarJack Control Panel, which allows you to set levels. GuitarJack remembers these settings, so you may use GuitarJack with GarageBand and most other third party audio apps even if they do not have a GuitarJack Control Panel. GuitarJack Model 2 is compatible with iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, iPod touch (3rd and 4th gen.). We have also tested GuitarJack with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S, and the New iPad and it works great. Many users enjoy using GuitarJack with no cable, but some users like the distance that a cable solution provides - GuitarJack works great with the CableJive dockXtender cable.
