RiffLink Junkies Rock Florida

RiffLink Junkie Picture

The First Annual Junkie Convention over July 4th weekend was a "smashing success!"

Six talented guys, who met in the RiffWorks community, and have been recording songs together online using RiffLink, met in Florida and had a blast. Wedgebill (Florida via UK), Mickeymix (Florida), Strat (Florida), Gator (North Carolina), Scott (Scotland), and Rick (New York) clinked a LOT of beer bottles together, jammed for hours, and even coerced a new guy, Crow, into the RiffWorks magic. Now he's a RiffLink Junkie, too!

RiffWorld Picks of the Month

Every month Sonoma staff or a guest writer picks one or more notable songs from RiffWorld.com. Scott, a RiffLink Junkie from south-east Scotland, volunteered to choose the June picks.

RiffCaster Pick

Scott said this about his RiffCaster Pick, "Freaking Me Out" by lovemyvariax (Australia): "I wanted to choose something that had decent production quality, had a 'whole song' structure to it and was melodic and had a good hook. Of the 500+ 'casts I listened to (yes, I listened to them all!), I thought this was outstanding."

RiffLink Pick

Scott's RiffLink Pick goes to "Deliverance" by Joshua001 (MO) with pooterpatty (GA), mickeymix (FL), redbaron (Germany), meesh (CA), trikloretylen (Sweden), cwight (UK) and pbbobkanobi (CA).

Scott says, "I picked this because of the over all quality of the song and technical proficiency of the playing. Nice one guys!"

Special Mention

Scott added, "I also wanted to comment on one particular 'Caster' whose quality of 'casts' stood out for me. I felt that Les's 'Casts' were the most consistently high standard throughout June."

Server & Login Upgrade

The RiffWorld.com servers have been upgraded to handle the large number of new people visiting RiffWorld.com. With the launch of RiffWorks T4, people can post songs and collaborate online for free, and that is bringing on a lot of traffic.

Also, a new universal login system has been launched to integrate Sonoma Wire Works services. The store, RiffWorld, and forums are now all on the same system. Now, when you log into one, you log into all of them. This prevents people from registering multiple user names and reduces the number of times a user needs to login while using these services.
