DrumCore Artist Spotlight: Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett

Jonathan Sugarfoot Moffett

At NAMM Sonoma Wire Works had the honor of meeting Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett, who performed with Michael Jackson and the Jackson family for 30 years, including drumming for Michael's This is It movie. Sugarfoot said in This is It, "Michael's talent runs so deep. He draws from a deeper emotion than anyone I've seen or worked with." Check out Sugarfoot's recent work in:

Coming from humble beginnings in the birthplace of funk, New Orleans, LA, Jonathan Moffett has kept the world dancing with solid grooves. At 12, musicians gave him the nickname "Sugarfoot" because of his fast, and articulate bass drum work, playing 16th and even 32nd note figures within his funky, relentless grooves. You may know him from the polished 80's recordings he did with Madonna (Open Your Heart, Live To Tell, Like A Prayer, etc.), Elton John (Sacrifice), Michael Jackson (This Is It), and many more - Sugarfoot has a way with a beat that attracts attention. His extensive work with the Jacksons (including solo work with Michael and Janet) kept arenas of fans bopping and disco dance floors hopping. More in Modern Drummer's Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett Interview.

Snow Leopard & Windows 7

RiffWorks, DrumCore and KitCore are all working on Snow Leopard and Windows 7 in our office.

RiffWorks Standard requires this patch in order to use the Audio Panel on Snow Leopard. Soon there will be a small bug fix update for RiffWorks, and then we will be adding new features.

For DrumCore and KitCore, we're testing them with all the DAWs. We will post more details as that testing progresses and will post a FAQ.

In the mean time, if you have any issues on these systems, please contact

DrumCore Reviews

Sound On Sound

Tom Flint of Sound On Sound reviews DrumCore 3 saying, "Drumcore's come a long way, and version 3 makes it easier than ever to use pro drummer performances on your tracks...Drumcore offers an attractive way of assembling a great-sounding rhythm track in a short time. Personally, I love the elegant simplicity."

Sound On Sound

Scott McChane of TapeOp says, "I was definitely wowed by DrumCore's workflow, but what really won me over was the natural, uncolored quaity of the recorded audio files (24-bit, 48 kHz). In addition to the great selection of drumkit and percussion libraries included with the factory install, an impressive catalog of GrooveSets has been compiled in DrummerPack expansion libraries. All of DrumCore's libraries, including both the factory and exansion packs, feature many drummers you're sure to recognize - like Alan White, Bill Bruford, Luis Conte, and more."
