Last week the Sonoma Wire Works guys talked about having some artists play with GuitarJack. The next day they took a camera on a roadtrip to see Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), Melanie Martel (Recording Artist), Rikki Rockett (Poison), Trevor Veitch (Producer/Songwriter) and Chris Many (Film/TV Composer). Watch what happens.
Jordan Rudess on GuitarJack
"When I was traveling last month in the San Francisco area, I stopped over at Sonoma Wire Works. I expected to basically just say hello and check out their latest apps. To my surprise they pulled out their GuitarJack prototype to show me. It has a professional look and feel to it that just has quality written all over it! I'm waiting very impatiently to get my hands on one of these babies! It's going to be a perfect addition to my mobile touring rig!!" - Jordan Rudess (Dreamtheater - currently on tour with Iron Maiden)
Artist Spotlights: Rabbit (The Who) and Justin Lassen
We were honored this month to interview a legend of rock and roll and a rising star: John "Rabbit" Bundrick of The Who and composer Justin Lassen. Rabbit has spent decades playing the keys for acts ranging from Bob Marley to The Who. Currently Rabbit is revisiting some of his classic recordings and is using DrumCore to put the finishing touches on the songs. Justin Lassen is also a DrumCore user. With remixes for Lady Gaga, The Killers, and Linkin Park under his belt, Justin is using Sonoma Wire Works' software to shape his unique sound.
Justin Lassen
With remixes for Lady Gaga and Linkin Park, Justin Lassen has earned the respect of the music industry, but it was his innovative use of computer generated art that earned him the accolades of the visual art world. Justin broke new ground by creating original music inspired by and matched to still CG imagery. A passionate DrumCore and Kitcore user, Justin took time out of his incredibly busy schedule to let us know what he's working on, how he gets inspired, and how DrumCore helps his workflow. "I first heard about it with Kitcore that came with Acid... as soon as I tried it I thought "Oh my God! This is powerful!"... I've used it in many DAWS and it just works perfectly." More in the Justin Lassen Interview
Rabbit (The Who)
John "Rabbit" Bundrick has worked with some of the greatest legends in music and on some of the most iconic projects in music history. Contributing keys to Bob Marley's albums, composing for the cult classic film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," and being The Who's keyboard and synth player are just a few of Rabbit's achievements. Rabbit is still actively with The Who and working on several music projects. An enthusiastic DrumCore user, Rabbit emailed us with some amazing stories of life with The Who. "I have replaced much of my drumming... using DrumCore. Spot on stuff it is. It really is the only drum software I use anymore. The ultimate I have found." More in the Rabbit Interview
