From movie soundtracks to cutting edge electrorock albums, DrumCore is the tool of choice for musicians needing amazing drum sounds. This month's Artist Spotlights bring us two amazing musicians that are using DrumCore to take on multiple genres. Chris Corner, a.k.a. IAMX, got his start as a founding member of the influential trip hop group, The Sneaker Pimps. Since then, Chris has been channeling his talents to his groundbreaking solo project, IAMX. Featuring cutting edge electronic sounds with raw organic instrumentation, Chris is in constant need of new tools. DrumCore is a new favorite for Chris. He wrote us from his studio in Berlin to let us know about his forthcoming album, "Volatile Times." Danny Weinkauf has been a busy man. In addition to being a member of the critically acclaimed band "They Might Be Giants," Danny has been busy composing and producing music for TV and film. With multiple genres to write for, it comes as no surprise that DrumCore has been a key tool for Danny's productions. Check out the interviews below:
Chris Corner (IAMX)
IAMX is the brainchild and alter-ego of Chris Corner (formerly of the Sneaker Pimps). Combining live instrumentation with electronic sounds, IAMX's sound is lush and intoxicating. Chris' raw and passionate vocals about life, death, love, and religion stir up both controversy and loving adoration from listeners around the globe. Chris took time out from his busy rehearsals to let us know more about his newest masterpiece, the forthcoming "Volatile Times." DrumCore has played a big part in the percussion of the album, and Chris has taken his produtions to a new level of sonic intricacies. .
"I am a drum snob and I was also skeptical to try new software during the recording process but [DrumCore] slipped into my setup easily. The navigation and flexibility was great but didn't interest me as much as the sounds. I found them expansive, expressive and of beautiful quality. Deep and full of attitude."

Danny Weinkauf (They Might Be Giants)
Celebrating almost 30 years together, They Might Be Giants is one of the most beloved bands in the history of the alternative music scene. Never afraid to experiement, they have blended genres, dabbled in comedy, and even released Grammy award winning children's albums. Laying down the bass for this quirky group is Danny Weinkauf. In addition to work with They Might Be Giants, Danny is a talented composer and writes extensively for TV and film. Along with bandmate John Flansburgh, Danny is a huge DrumCore fan and uses it to lay the groundwork for his music.
"I love Drum Core. A few years ago a friend recommended it to me and I've been using it ever since. I recently needed to re-record a version of one of my TMBG tunes for a museum in Canada, so instead of using our drummer I used DrumCore and it sounded great! I also use it all the time for tracks for TV and jingles. It's got a great variety of easy to use sounds and beats. That's important when you need to get tracks done quickly."
