GuitarJack News & Reviews
In Rolling Stone's January 19, 2012 Issue, John Dioso says, "The new version of GuitarJack remains the top-of-the-line instrument-to-iPhone interface: It connects via the iPhone's or iPad's 30-pin dock, which makes for impeccable sound with no discernible noise. Its solid aluminum body also has a 1/8-inch input for a microphone, so you can record on two tracks simultaneously, using the company's FourTrack or StudioTrack app."
"Some New Little Treasures for the iPhone" by Bob Tedeschi of The New York Times: "Using an external device like...GuitarJack, guitarists can plug their instrument into the iPhone and add layers of stomp-box sound."
"The design of the GuitarJack is stunning. It's sleek, attractive and something you would be proud to carry around with your Apple device. But this is a guitar device, so the proof is in the sound...it worked beautifully...the quality of the signal was evident. I’ve been a fan of Sonoma Wire Works for many years. They are a company that cares about its users and they make very high-quality software and hardware products. If you’re looking for a device to play your guitar on the iPhone or iPad, I highly recommend GuitarJack 2."
"What really strikes you is the quality of the GuitarJack Model 2. Not just the external build quality, but the sound quality through the device. The line in is great too, it works very well to have a stereo in for the iPhone or iPad.
"GuitarJack 2 is everything that GuitarJack 1 was, and more. The sound quality is really good. Some of the apps are free, and FourTrack is well worth the extra ten bucks. You should seriously consider checking out GuitarJack."
"THIS THING IS BUILT LIKE A TANK! It’s got some weight to it but thats a good thing especially when you hear the sound quality from it! GuitarJack Model 2 is definitely a must have. If you're serious about music-making, this thing will not disappoint."
"Like the original, GuitarJack Model 2 is a premium quality audio interface for connecting a wide range of instruments and microphones to iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod Touch (2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation) iOS devices. GJ2 plugs into and is powered via the docking port of those popular products and turns them into professional audio tools"
One Like Son Releases Album Made on the iPhone
For their third record, Start the Show, One Like Son decided to challenge themselves by recording it entirely on the iPhone. Where most music composed on the iPhone or iPad sounds like digital music, this record sounds like a live rock and roll band. The guitar-heavy group recorded in hotel rooms, bedrooms and school classrooms... basically anywhere they could bring an iPhone and their instruments. Daniel Codella of Sonoma Wire Works says, "Out of all the E.P's and "albums" I've come across that claim to be recorded entirely on the iPhone, One Like Son's "Start the Show" is the most impressive by far. One Like Son have produced a full blown rock record on the iPhone that sounds like it was recorded using thousands of dollars’ worth of gear. One Like Son have really set the bar for what can be done with an inexpensive mobile recording setup. Bravo!"

Artist Spotlight: Ben Charles (Songwriter/Producer)
Ryan O'Neal of Sleeping At Last has been a featured Artist Spotlight before, but is now enjoying major critical acclaim for his contributions to the "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1" soundtrack. We caught up with Ryan to see if FourTrack and StudioTrack were still a part of his workflow. Check out the interview below:
Ryan O'Neal (Sleeping At Last)
This month brings us a talented young songwriter who's tearing up the charts with well crafter pop hits for Disney TV series. Ben Charles reached out to us to let us know how much he's been using DrumCore in his workflow:
"I love using DrumCore. The preset beats are a fantastic writing tool. They have such a great feel and vibe that they provide great inspiration to jam and write to. I often use DrumCore on my demos, and listeners think they're listening to a live drummer! And the individual drum sounds that DrumCore provides have made their way onto some of my productions as well!
"
