New: GuitarJack Stage Control App

The free GuitarJack Stage Control app (in the iTunes App store) allows you to use Sonoma's GuitarJack Stage 2-in/2-out audio interface for iOS/Mac/Win/Android to control many third-party iOS apps that support MIDI input (e.g. amp simulators, effects processors, recording apps).

GuitarJack Stage Control enables apps to be controlled by GuitarJack Stage's buttons and knobs, including AmpliTube®, BIAS® FX (iPad), JamUp®, JamUp® Pro, and many other third party apps that support MIDI input.

Read about how to set a third-party app's MIDI channel and map its MIDI parameters for use with GuitarJack Stage here.

More in-depth MIDI map details for the GuitarJack Stage can be found here.

Sonoma's FourTrack (iPhone), StudioTrack (iPad), and GuitarTone (iPhone/iPad) do not require the GuitarJack Stage Control app as they include fully integrated controls for GuitarJack Stage without the need for a separate app. Sonoma plans to add the ability for users to re-map the controls for Sonoma apps soon.

Sonoma Wire Works NAMM 2016 Wrap-up

NAMM was in January, and we are just now catching our breath from a busy show, updating our website, launching DrumCore 4 Mac Beta 6, and getting another batch of GuitarJack Stages and StudioJack Minis rolling in the factory. Here are a few of the highlights during NAMM at Sonoma's booth.

Mike Campese Using GuitarJack Stage and GuitarTone

Mike Campese played several times at Sonoma's both through GuitarJack Stage audio I/O and pedal controller for iOS/Mac/Win and the GuitarTone amps and effects app for iOS at NAMM 2016. He's an incredible player and brought huge crowds to the booth! Check out Mike's performance pics here.

Mike Campese is an American guitarist and composer best known for being a member of the multi-platinum group Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Click here for a video of Mike playing "Kilauea" and "Heavy Thing" through GuitarJack Stage and GuitarTone at NAMM 2016.

Thanks to Terry Bert for taking awesome pictures at our booth!

Stephan De.Reine Plays DrumCore 4

Sonoma's friend Stephan De.Reine took the MIDI drum kits in DrumCore 4 for a spin at our booth at NAMM 2016. Here's video we grabbed on an iPhone that shows how much he enjoyed it. He was impressed with the sounds and how responsive DrumCore is, and has been exploring it more at his Desert Recording Studio.

Look for videos soon of him demonstrating his incredible keyboard drumming techniques using DrumCore 4.

Stephan is a renowned pianist, composer, producer and recording artist who has worked with Universal, EMI, Virgin, Sony-BMG, Stevie Wonder, Larry Dunn (Earth Wind & Fire), Ariana Grande, Danny Carey (Tool), Robert Palmer, and many others.

Mark Burgess Using GuitarJack Stage and GuitarTone

Mark Burgess dug into Sonoma's GuitarJack Stage audio I/O and pedal controller for iOS/Mac/Win and the GuitarTone amps and effects app for iOS at NAMM 2016. We captured some of his reactions on video. Man, can this guy play! We can't wait to hear what else this Mark can do with this gear!

Mark Burgess has been playing guitar for 35 years. He studied at The Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University as a jazz performance major where he studied under jazz luminaries Ted Dunbar and Kenney Barron, as well as a semester with Tonight Show bandleader Kevin Eubanks. For the past 25 years he has participated in numerous Guitar Craft courses in North America and Europe, directed by rock icon Robert Fripp. He has worked with/played for Tom Scott, JJ Jackson, Guitar Shorty and Don Rickles. He is the author of The Serious Guitarist - Right Hand Picking: A Technique-Building Approach for the Dedicated Guitarist and The Serious Guitarist: Left-Hand Techniques.

Thanks to Codella Music for loaning Sonoma the guitar for the show, it sounded great!
