SONOMA WIRE WORKS ANNOUNCES INSTANT PODCASTING AVAILABLE FOR RIFFWORKS
--RiffWorks recording software broadcasts users songs instantly via RiffCaster's podcasting technology.--

Sebastopol, CA -- October 21, 2005 -- Sebastopol, CA - October 21, 2005 -- Sonoma Wire Works™, developers of RiffWorks&trade award-winning recording software, announced today the launch of instant podcasting technology through their free RiffCaster broadcasting service.

Designed for guitarists first, but equally comfortable for any musician to use, RiffWorks makes the recording process fun. RiffWorks users can start recording with their preferred tempo by simply strumming their guitar. Real-time effects help create just the right tone, and the included InstantDrummer offers real drum back-up recordings and the ability to dial in the right amount of intensity and variation without typical tedious drum-machine programming. RiffWorks is included with Line 6 GuitarPort RiffTracker.

Musicians who use RiffWorks can easily publish their music for comments and suggestions to RiffCaster, an online community of other musicians and listeners. People from all over the world listen to RiffCaster either as a podcast or directly on the web. With RiffWorks it has never been easier to create and publish quality music. http://www.sonomawireworks.com/riffcaster (NOTE: RiffCaster has moved to http://www.rifworld.com/riffcaster.)

To protect users' rights, Creative Commons licensing has been integrated into the publishing process. Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization that offers a flexible copyright for creative work. This licensing helps protect users music and ideas. For more information on Creative Commons, see

Currently users create a RiffWorks OggVorbis file and attach it to an email to Sonoma Wire Works. In less than two minutes their song will be posted as a webcast and podcast for listeners to comment on. The upcoming version of RiffWorks will offer one click broadcasting to RiffCaster. This will make it even easier for RiffWorks users to podcast and webcast to the world.

"Recording music is a creative way to have fun and improve your abilities as a musician. Being able to share that music with an audience and receive feedback is a total rush. RiffWorks and RiffCaster makes this experience something any musician can have without the time, cost, and technical complexity it previously required," says Dan Walton, VP of Technology at Sonoma Wire Works.
