Did you install the AU components? By default, the installer only installs the standalone application on the Mac.

oh boy it works with mac.i might have to get amplitube it would be good if it sounds like guitar rig if i would have known this two weeks ago i would have put torwards amplitube instead.maybey they will find out why it causes problems with both windows and mac.that would be just like it to get a mac sometime and it still would not load.i wonder if i remove the dxi dll if that would help since riffworks only uses vst

Did you install the VST? As with the Mac version, IIRC unless you select the VST, it only installs the standalone version. I'll put RiffWorks onto my ACID workstation and see if it will talk to GR2...

Windows test using GR2 VST plugin ...

GR2 VST installed into C:Program FilesVstplugins
Windows XP w/SP2
E-MU 0404
Guitar line in to right channel
Start RiffWorks 2 Standard
Turn Off Hardware Monitoring
Select Effects
Drop down Amp Menu
Select Guitar Rig 2 from the list
Configure a Twang Reverb, 2x12 Jazz Cab w/ Default Dynamic 57 Mic
Demon Distortion Pre-Head
Add Studio Reverb after the cabinet
Sounds like a 1974 Mountain Jam with a bad drummer (got to install more drummers ...)

[EDIT: Demon distortion is a bit "hot" when driven with BC Rich Warlock, clipped the input to the RiffWorks layer. Dropped back to standard Tele and it's MUCH better.]

Summary - worked fine for me ...

Yes I did install the full monthy but no avail. It's okay, I'm pretty satisfied with my POD XT Live's sounds - just wanted to try GRig out... curious you know! Thanks.

ok soungs good let me make sure the vst is installed.guitar rig is awesome the cabinets and effects are what seperate it from the rest of the amp model stuff.i think korg and guitar rig are the only ones with real cabinet tones, so there is no need for a palmer speaker simulater..makes me wonder what amplitube sounds like.

Don't mistake my zeal for Guitar Rig as anything against Amplitube. It's just that I've been using GR since it's original release. The only reason I wan to use GR even though we get Amplitube LE as part of RiffWorks is related to the CPU utilization when the effects are stacked. On average, GR2 has been 20% to 30% less in CPU and RAM consumption than Amplitube for similar effects. Additionally, since I already own and use the full release of GR2, there are things that I can go after that you can't do with the limited nature of the Amplitube LE provided with RiffWorks.

If you don't already own Guitar Rig and don't want to shell out the extra money to purchase it, Amplitube LE adds a great new set of tone capabilities to RiffWorks. It was a great new feature for SWW to add to the package.

Again, please don't read anything more into my quest for GR2 compatibility. I like Amplitube's results, it's just that I am already familiar with GR and have the full release version at my beck and call.

i got guitar rig to start i cant change presets though im not going to try it anymore.amplitube i think is a little better for high gain and guitar rig a little better for classic rock.they all have there plus and minus things.just like boss and pod ect with the pod better for highgain boss for classic rock.if the vhardware stuff is going to compete they need to step up the sound of the cabinets

I hear you... I cant change presets in Guitar rig ~ALA~ Riffworks either.

when I run GR2 Vst independent of Rw2 I can change presets..

Any thoughts from Sonoma on this one?

Sp2 locked up your computer? Hmm I dont have any trouble like that going on. Windows is running great. So you had to reload windows to get GR2 to work? ....

Dude... ouch!

I figured out how to change presets .... only the graphical interface takes a VERY long time to respond.
