I want to record vocal and guitar into a single riffworks track.

I plug my guitar into instrument and use the XLR for my condensor.

I select the source as instrument and mic 1 in gerarbox and set up the models for both channels.

In RW, my only input options are Send 1+2 or Send 3+4.

Selecting 1+2 only records the guitar, Send 3+4 only records vocal.

I think I want 1 and 3 in the inputs?

Is there a way to get more selections or is this a Toneport limitation.

Hi opdev

Yes it's true, there's a current signal limit in toneport. Mic 1 + Guitar(orbass).
I have a Ux2 model, Thats what you have also, right? I hope they increase the number of simultaneous instruments and some variety options so you can mix it up a bit.

like, ie; keyboard + mic + guitar , bass + guitar + keyboard

How were you thinking to record the mic and guitar? Riffworks can only record one instrument signal at a time which is bummer. Ive been bugging them to increase that number to 2. For now, I suppose there might be a way to record one of the signals in Riffworks, and the other in audacity then mix down the riffworks track to wav, Import it to audacity, then mix in that program, but I havent tried it. Maybe someone on the forum can explain how it could be done.

This is a limitation of Riffworks. It dosnt do multitracking. Nor does it claim to be a multitracker. Theoretically, it could record a mono signal from 1 and a mono signal from 3 if there was a way to enable it.

freakk, you had it right; mix it together in aud or something else, but get recycle 2.wotever to convert to rex2, as long as its not over 5 mins, but gotta say, making a modern day audio capture/editor WITHOUT the ability to import AND mix in WAV is like building an auto WITHOUUT REVERSE!!!!
