...just to make sure: now that i have rw line6 edition on my computer - can i uninstall/ delete the old rw 1.0? or are there shared drivers or sth?

maybe it´d be a good idea to offer v2 users the option to "overwrite previous rw version" during the installation process. because from most programs out there, i´m so much used to new software versions finding & automatically overwriting obsolete older ones of the same program that it sort of confuses me if that doesn´t happen. since the old rw file formats, drummers etc are compatible with the new program, it doesn´t make much sense to keep the old one on one´s computer, does it?

I'm fairly sure that you should be able to uninstall your previous version. I certainly have and RWS works fine.

I agree that it might be useful for the new installer to detect the old version and give an option to overwrite or to instruct the user to uninstall previous versions. As you say, there's little or no point in keeping the older version installed when the space freed up by uninstalling can be used to save all those great new songs you're about to write! ;)
Cheers!

Sometimes its nice to provide the user with a way to go back to an old version in case they are having troubles with the new version. Since it took us a year and a half to go from V1 to V2, you can imagine that there is just a pile of new code in there. Its all pretty well tested at this point, but you never know. If anyone runs into a problem (which a couple of you have), at least we didn't nuke your only way to record... :) If V2 is working well for you, you can and should uninstall RW1.1 to give you some disk space back.

Any updates to V2 will likely just update your current version.
