Initially I didn't have any problems but now in the only song I have yet made with the new version of riffworks, which is currently at about 4:30 minutes length, I keep getting errors when I duplicate riffs.

This is the error I get:

An unknown error has occurred bla bla bla
Code –1 at .Dlooper.cpp:line 382

followed by the usual Runtime error window.

Has anyone got the same problem and does anyone know how to solve it because it has become impossible for me to work on my song, since duplicating riffs is essential to the way I write songs (and most people I presume).

Edit: it seems to occur with every riff I try to duplicate, even when I just create a new one.

Well I did some experimenting and it seems like I just have too many riffs and layers going on in the song. I deleted some of the layers that I had muted but left in the riffs so that I could always choose which layer to use later, and then I was able to duplicate again. but after I had got 4 new riffs, I got the errors again, so it must be a size related issue (at least that's what I think, I'm beginning a new song tomorrow so if I still have the same problem in a new song I'll let you know). I was planning to make a 7-8 minute song but I left it at 5 minutes because there is no way I can make new riffs now and enlarge it without repeating stuff.

This is the song if that helps any or if you're interested

Hi,

Try deleting your RCS directory at "C:Documents and Settingsuser(YourProfileName)Local SettingsTemprcs", re-launching RiffWorks and then attempt to increase the length of your song.

Let us know if that works,

How much RAM do you have Da Freak?
How many Riffs did you have when it started crashing?

thanks,

Hi,
Well my system specs are P IV 3.0 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM and a Geforce 7600 GS so that should not be causing the problem. The problem occurs when I'm at around 45 riffs. The number of layers in the riffs ranges from 2 to 10. Deleting the rcs folder didn't really help. I've decided to just stop the song where it is now, so it's not really a problem at the moment, and it is probably due to size since I have begun work on a new song and everything is fine there so far.

I'm having the same problem in my new song, since it has developed quite an amount of riffs now too. I guess the only solution is to mix to riff the part of the song I have already made, export it, and start a new song and import it.

Hi guys,

I'm having the same problem under the same conditions as DaFreak.
From my point of view its a poor solution to delete the riffs, cause I want to hear them. This is definitely a bug. After the crash I also have to turn my Pod XT off and on again.

Cheers

Peter.
