RW2 is not saving changes to gain control. After I make a change, save the song file, load the song file, NONE of the changes are remembered. This obviously quite frusterating when youve got to remix the WHOLE song over and over again, every time I reload it.

TO make matters worse.. After I do some of the re-mixing RiffWorks Standard Shuts down and gives an error called and "unhandled exception error". THis happens every single time! In other words I cant finish a song untill you fix the bug.

I dont mean to be a pain in the ass, but this is terribly frusterating.

See now I have had zero problems with RW2 standard. I am not trying to rub that in, but merely making a point. Some people have had a terrible time, and others like myself have had no issues at all.

I just wanted to make that point cause I don't think the positive gets aired on the boards enough.

Ricky I love that sig man.............LOL Hilarious!

I have had only minor bugs... then there's offcause RiffLink that is in beta - but that's a whole other story.
A piano has about 7.500 moving parts - that's why I play the guitar...

Same here....no major problems with RW-II Std or RW-II L6. The load times are like 5% - 10% of that of version 1.1
The interface is improved.
I suspect some are having conflicts with their particular computer set up some how or possibly a corruption during install.
I too wish those luck at resolving their problems and wish I had an answer for them. Like Shred said though it should be pointed out that not all are going through these hassles so I don’t think it is a bug across the board with the software but rather set ups in particular.

ughhhh T?hanks Shredrex..
YEAh .... super sonoma.. supersonomasupersonoma
Yeah lets point out the positive then.

wait a minute
dude Im having trouble here..

Silz -

Thats entirely possible that I may have a botched installation. THe thing is everything works pretty good whe first starting out.. only seems to screw up after a bunch of LONG S~layers and tweaking the gains in them. This last song was 170 megs and it worked well ( with the exception of a couple Random - no warning shutdowns - no big deal I save quite a bit) right unitil I duplicated this long riff, Gained it, and added a delay section to a tiny section on the end.. and thats where I left it. So if no one else is seeing similar bleep with Riffworks 2 Standard, then Ill try the install..

I sure hope thats all it is.

If you was working fine and something went wrong now ,then maybe something did corrupt somewhere down the line for ya. I wish I had the answer on your problem and I am sorry I don't.
It probably would be worth while to see if the Sonoma guys can help you find a bad file first before doing a reinstall.

It is because of how applications and such can go bad that I always try to do complete back-ups of my drive as often as possible when everything is running great.
I wish you all the luck on this.

On a project I was goofing with months ago with version 1.1....I was getting quite a few riffs in the song.....I know it was running around 9 minutes in time.
I split it into 2 seperate projects as it was taking such a long time to load with all the riffs and I imagine killing my ram. But I never got any error messages of any kind.
Latter I joined them back together when they got mixed to riff.

MAybe you know this already and its more a cost $$ issue, but if you get better, faster and more ram... Song length problems vanish into thin air. I had that exact problem you were having on Rw 1.1 running only 512 meg.. Now Im using 2 gigs of Corsair and everything is great. Plus I can run all kinds of other background tasks with zero trouble.. thanks again

Hi....been outta here for a while....I don't think it's anything I said but sure am glad it all worked out for ya. :D

I really can't stress the back-up thing enough. Ghost 2003 and Ghost 9 has saved me butt a few times and I feel well worth the inverstment. Should use an external drive though for the back-up as CDs and DVDs will be a drag.
I believe Ghost 10.0 is out now.

Well,

I am somewhere between the two extremes. RW2 is a great app but I do find it buggy at times. Generally this is more of a nuisance than a real problem. However, there is one big issue that I have had. RW2 is supposed to allow you to recover a song when the app. crashes. With the first RW this worked. With RW2, I have never (and I repeat never, never, never) had a recoverable error. When I try to recover the song the app simply crashes again, so I loose all my edits from that session.

Tell me about it!

same here... although, RWrecovery has PARTIALLY worked for me. It has never recovered my Songlayers successfully though.. which truly sucks

I've gotten in the habit of "Saving As" after the 1st lick........ type inthe name and all................then after that you just hit the save button after every riff......no more typing.............. and ya won't lose nothing.............It's no more trouble then another mouse click after the 1st time.............and it's good backup

.hope this helps..............Mike

Camero

YEah I most definately agree with u on this .. backup backup backup.. Youll never be sorry you did.. I never used a ghost backup, but I just got done burning 30 gigs of song files to dvd.. 1 copy went into a locked, 200 lbs Strongbox.. The other copy for backup emergencies only, and of course a 3rd set still on the hardrive itself.
