Guitarport and Gearbox: using on laptop

Dear All,

as I read here before many of you are using Guitarport with a laptop. Now I also try it, but during the battery charging period or simply when my laptop operating from the line adaptor I hear terrible noise from the speakers. I can filter this noise with the Gate/Thresold function of Gearbox, but of course the tone of the effect is changing too, so this is not a real solution. Do you have any idea? It is a Dell Inspiron 6400/1505 operating with european 220V/50Hz 65W adatpter.

I have also experienced some "White Noise" with my Dell laptop running GearBox and GuitarPort. I did a bit of research on the Line6 web-site and found a number of good write-ups on what could be causing the problem. Here is a couple of links that might help you with this problem:

These will give you quite a detailed explanation of this problem and a number of solutions. What I ended up finding is that it was my wireless NIC... as soon as I turned it off... the White Noise went away!

Dear Brent,

thank you for your answer.
I switched off my wireless card (and the router too) but nothing happened.
I read the suggested links but I think the problem is not the USB.
I can totally raise the noise when I disconnect the laptop from the line adapter...I try to get some help from Dell support.
