funny enough Im actually interested in the technical side of things..
I knew there was somehting about midi being used by EZ drummer and the like, but what I didnt know was that it doesnt require any actual midi interface to run (to make things even more complicated!) The midi commands work behind the scenes which prompt their Killer drum sounds and theres thousands of presets in all kinds of styles arranged for the specific drum kits.
You could use a midi drum interface if you wanted to invest in that though, like where you wanted your real drummer to hit his own beats. That would sound great too, providing you had a good drummer

Theres lots of other ways to get hooked up with new beats too. Midi files can be found all over the net (Theyre all over the place and theyre free). There's also converters.. convert a beat of another format to midi, and finally midi construction programs where you make your own midi. Im new to this myself and Im still exploring the possibilities so add your own experiences to this thread if Im wrong about somehting.
Truthfully , every hit sounds real. I fell on the floor when I first heard it. The Tempo Range iwill astound you, a change 50 bpm either way has almost no noticible effect on the quality. The Drum track making interface is fantastic too... Just drag and drop. Or just click the (>) button and Jam in EZ drummer.
no double snare hits where you dont want em.. no difference between mixdown and songbar. Just great sound all around.
The question is why can't Riffworks support it? It is the best EZ Drummer on the market today.
Hi yawroN - I got it working with Ableton Live. I dont like Abletons interface as much as Riffworks but its still easier to figure out than anything else Ive tried.
Luck to all!
