Hi all, I dont know if this has been asked or not but I had this really awesome song, and when I went to mix it down was told that I could'nt mix a song with multiple tempo's. Did I do something wrong or is this really the way it is? If it is this way..why?
thanks for any response.

Will this be something we can look forward to in future updates?
I would'nt think it would be to hard to do. But then again I dont know either.
I do know that it would be really cool to be able to do this.

We can certainly think about it. The downside is that all Riffs have this concept of having a tempo and a bar length. When you mix two Riffs that have different tempos, what is the tempo of the new Riff? How many bars is it?

You should definitely be able to mix it down to a wave or ogg file, just not to a new Riff.

This has been requested alot already... What I dont understand is why cant you assign the mixdown riff a new measurement stick of time in seconds , mlliseconds, nanosecs etc instead of the typical bar/tempo measuremnet.

Sounds like the effects and back up modules might not synch up right.

alphamate,

GuitarSlinger is right. The problem isn't necessarily that we couldn't switch the duration of a Riff to be in non-bars/beats, its that a lot of stuff would stop working properly. I mean... What tempo do the backups now play at? All of the effects have beat sync options, what duration do those use as a beat?

A lot of this leads us to Song Layers. The reason MixToRiff was added in v1 was to allow people to record layers over many sequential Riffs for vocals and leads. Now, with Song Layers, MixToRiff shouldn't be as necessary for stuff like that. Riffs always work in the same way, no broken features after doing certain things to a Riff.
