losing mouse control on song timeline

On Macbook Pro Intel latest OSX latest everything

So I've been trying to use take some notes on the songs using textedit, but switching back and forth between riffworks and textedit causes riffworks not to allow the mouse to access the song timeline. You can still click on riffs, and scrub through riffs, just not the song timeline. Only way I've been able to get it back is to restart riffworks.

Along with this problem, brings up some feature requests.

One would be a song notes window? And/Or Make the riffnotes scrollable and editable(this should be very easy with current API's and would be fine) And then ability to print notes.

Also would be nice to be able to print or send to clipboard the current song timeline..

Ok.. So I think Ive traced this a little better..

Open Riffworks with a song.
Pull up textedit, probably any program will do.. make RIffworks (mostly) viewable under the textedit window (probably could be side by side if your screen is big enough)... Make sure textedit has the window focus.. Then click directly on the riffworks song timeline.. From this point you've lost the ability to click on the song timeline..

I can absolutely reproduce this on my machine, so I'll take a look at what's going on. Thank you for the precise recipe to recreate this bug. That is really helpful.

Hey Dave I think he found what i was having too. Never realized I had another text program open but it is very very possible I did I put all my lyrics in Notepad.

Thanks for the report. Fixed the problem this afternoon on MacOS. It may not have been a problem on Windows. I don't know because I didn't try to reproduce it there, but it is possible that it was screwed up on both platforms.

It will go out with the next dot update. Not sure when that will be, but it shouldn't be too long.
