Audacity can load VST effects (for Mac OS or Windows) using the optional VST Enabler.
Cheers!

1. Does RiffWorks 2 Standard work with NI Guitar Rig v1 OR v2? If not, are there plans to make it compatible?

I believe so. I haven't personally tested it, but we do have one lying around. That said, I seem to remember at least one person reporting an issue that we need to work out with NI.

2. I am having trouble with some of my VST plugins such as SimulAmp. These plug ins don't have a graphical interface so, that might be the issue. They DO show up in the list under "Amp" but when I select them it asks me to pick an amp first and won't play.

Haven't tried simulamp, but we don't provide any sort of generic interface for VST. Even if you could open it, there would be no way to change any parameters. Our goal for providing VST was not to provide across the board VST support, but to expand your potential amp options with things like Amplitube and Guitar Rig.

3. Are there Re-amping capabilities with RiffWorks 2 Standard? My guess is no which, is fine but leaves me to wonder if this is in the works for future releases? Would be quite nice!

No. We've talked about this one quite a bit over the years and its technically not much of a problem to support that with VST effects, but we can't ever do it with GearBox as we get the audio after the amp model is applied. The problem with supporting ReAmping with VST is that most amp models take a ton of CPU, so to do that for each layer in real time (like our effects) would at least double our system requirements and cause general RiffWorks slowness for most people. Its still something that I think we'd like to do...

4. Can TonePort run side by side with Guitar Port using RiffWorks 2 Standard? I am having trouble with this. I like the version 1.14 sounds of Guitar Port and would like to use them along with GearBox 3.0 using TonePort. When I try this, RiffWorks 2 Standard doesn't recognize the Guitar Port as an audio ASIO device. The drop downs in "Audio Setup" come up empty and I have to uninstall Guitar Port to reinstate the option for TonePort. My guess is that it's because the GuitarPort drivers are too old? Is there a workaround for this?

I have no idea... It could be that you can't use GearBox and GuitarPort software at the same time regardless... Since GearBox will try to open the GuitarPort device, I would imagine that it might cause problems.

5. In TonePort, is it possible to record two inputs (i.e. Mic 1 and Instrument 1) simultaneously?

Not yet.

6. Where is the hardware/software list for compatible VSTs and I/O that were tested with RiffWorks 2 Standard?

I'm not sure that we maintain a list. I know that we talked about it, but I'm not sure it was ever put up. Maybe Doug will chime in and tell me I'm wrong on this one...

P.S. I found the upgrade from RiffWorks 2 Line 6 edition to RiffWorks 2 Standard was WELL worth the added capabilities for $59. Thanks for this option!

Thanks! RiffWorks Standard is a much easier product for us to support as we control the full licensing, authentication, Drummer Store, etc. BTW: Sorry for the delay on this. Somehow, I totally missed this thread.
